I know a lot of brides have feelings of “dress regret”. I have this feeling that even though I just odered my dress in October, I have already forgotten how I looked in it (I didn’t take photos either).
I am SO afraid I am going to look so stupid in my dress. I ordered Maggie Sottero “Jenna”. I see other brides on WB wearing the dress and they look beautiful. However, most appear to be at least 10-15 years younger than me! I just have this fear that I am too old for the dress. Even though people typically think I am about 10 years younger than I am, I still worry that the dress isn’t age-appropriate for me.
I think I am just being a worry-wart and playing the “what if” game. :-/
Have any other bees felt like this while they waited for their dress to arrive?

That’s a gorgeous dress! You’ll look gorgeous. Last time I checked, dresses didn’t have age limits on their tags.

I looked up the “Jenna” dress and it is very beautiful. I am sure you will be gorgeous. Honestly, I have dress doubts and keep worrying about how I will look in my gown in February. I posted about my doubts/regrets and some of the best advice I got was remember what made you “fall in love” with the dress in the first place and how you felt.

I love that dress and I think I am in your age range. And if I could rock that dress I would, it is truely stunning. (I am really square shaped, def could not pull it off).

Age smage, you will rock whatever dress you choose! And the Jenna is gorgeous, don’t have regrets!

Jenna is amazing and i remember reading your posts when you bought it, you were SO excited. i know how it feels to see other people in your dress. but everyone looks different and special in their own way. you won’t look like the other girl wearing your dress, but you WILL look just as amazing in your own way.
if you are referring to the post that went up recently where another girl was wearing Jenna and she was young looking. i admit, i started questioning how good I look in the dress (its my dress too!) i showed that post to my FI and he said the dress would look better if i was in it! how lucky am i to have a man with all the right answers! point is, YOUR husband-to-be will love you in it because he loves you and thinks you are beautiful! that’s what you need to think and focus on. not what strangers you will never meet look like in your dress.

I definitely know that feeling, isn’t it cruel how long they make us wait? Sometimes I wish I bought a sample so I could just walk over and take a look whenever I’m feeling iffy about it. 20 years ago you bought a dress and that was it, unless you bought a magazine you didn’t have to worry about all the other dresses out there. But try to remember how amazing you felt and how happy you were, sometimes I go back to my old threads and read what I posted that day in my excitement. It calms my nerves a little bit that I can feel that way again when it comes in 🙂

Oh! one more thing, you can always go back to the store to try it on again, saying you want to see how some accessories look with it or something – you can just play dress up for an hour haha!

@arenyth: I definately agree with arenyth. I started to get the jitters only 1 week after buying my dress. So I called the shop and told them I would like to see the dress again and get pictures (I didn’t take any the day I bought it). They were very accommodating and I got to see my dress again and get pictures. Now when i worry I sneak looks at my pictures.
And I looked up the Jenna and it’s a beautiful. I’m sure you will look amazing.

@Birdie Love: I think EVERYONE kind of “forgets” what they felt like in the dress after a few months. Just remember that the day you bought it, something made you love it! It made you happy and you felt like a beautiful bride! Think of how excited you’ll be when it comes in and just look forward to that! No one is too old for a dress regardless of what age…if you feel beautiful in it, it will show.

Hey you! I think the Jenna will look great on you! Remember – no one else there will be wearing that gown, and don’t compare yourself to others! 🙂 It’s totally not a young dress either!! 🙂
