Just a FYI…I have seen these posts not go well because what you find horrible, someone else may find it amazing!  Not trying to ruin your post, just giving you a heads up 🙂

ETA:  I have worn some pretty awful, imo, bm dresses…that just were not flattering, at all.  Obviously, I would never post a pic, but oye.

@OUgal0004:  I was just thinking this, too.

Still, I am interested to see what gets posted.

I sent my mom a horrifying dress as my enthusiastic choice for her MOB dress… to say that she was not impressed would be a vast understatement. I chuckled Innocent

THIS definitely made me laugh – is it just me or does the fellow in the middle have on a delightful shade of lipstick?

in my opinion (no offense) most bridesmaid dresses are rather… unflattering and borderline ugly. I always wondered why that is.

I mean, I see beautiful dresses all the time, but as soon as the word “bridesmaid” is attached to it, it seems that all fashion sense went out the window…

Any guesses?

(note I have seen some very pretty BM dresses… they’re just outnumbered by the 80s prom looks)

@kmsw:  I have to pretty much agree lol. I’d chalk it up to the fact that its matchy matchy?? Want a purple dress with a purple flower and a purple sash?

Mine is not ” horrible” because of how it looked ( at all, really– beautiful dress)but  how it felt . The dresses were ordered online, and the size chart said I needed a dress about 8 sizes larger than my street size. So after allllll the alterations, the one shoulder still kept sliding off and I was afraid the whole time my boob would pop out. It never did fully, but it was a close call! Oh- and the fabric made it impossible to iron without the wrinkles where you sit down. Pretty dress and color— but overall not the best for my body type and the 5 inch heels that came with it!

@Mrs_Amanda:  Well, you look adorable in that dress!  I know what you mean about it being uncomfortable and ill-fitting, though.  (Not that I can tell by looking, but I know the feeling!  So annoying.)

@kmsw:  I think it has less to do with the style of the dress and more to do with the fact that you (usually) have 1 person picking out a dress, based on their taste, that’s going to go on a number of women who are often times many different shapes, sizes & styles.  And they often look worse than usual because when you’re not comfortable in something, it’s hard to make it look flattering.

For example, the dresses my sister picked for her wedding were a very simple and classic style, but it wasn’t MY style– so no matter how good it might have looked on someone else, it looked terrible on me because I wasn’t comfortable in it.

@jpalm13:  I think you’re right… and maybe all that faux-satin isn’t helping 😉
