Let’s change it up in here, I wanna see the worst wedding dress you’ve tried! Like total train wreck dress disasters.. just for fun 🙂
When I went dress shopping for the first time (by myself) the lady in the boutique basically forced me to try on this enormous ball gown dress that I was absolutely never gonna buy… but I humored her anyway. It was tots not me! But at least I know for sure lol What does your dress disaster look like?

buttaflybride: Hmm, I actually think you look gorgeous in that dress! But I totally get it. Sometimes you put on a dress and it’s just like BLECH not for me. 🙂 I bet this dress would be a fabulous one for some other bride out there though! What dress did you actually get?

pengoala: Oh thanks! That’s so nice, yes absolutely agree, although it’s not the dream dress for me it could certainly make another bride super happy!
I fell for a Rosa Clara dress and from memory I think you’ve already seen it and commented 🙂

buttaflybride: I totally agree the dress is absolutuly fabulous on you! I agree with pengoala that what doesnt suit one bride looks amazing on another bride!

The dresses that look horrible on me were because they didnt suit my style or personality or else my muffin top. lol. I found that lace dresses really looked matronly on me but I love them!
This is the dress I got the worst reviews on from other bee’s. They really hated the bottom on me. lol. It wasnt really a dress for my personality either!

Mrs.Z.: the top of the dress or
Is lovely, the bottom looks like you had to much to drink ( if you know what I mean).
buttaflybride: that dress is prety, but I can see why you didn’t like it. You look lovely in it but it doesn’t look like you’ re comfortable in it.
I haven’t started trying on dresses yet, but even though I wore a big poof gown at my first wedding ( hey, it was the 1980s) I want something much more fitted and sleek this time.

wifetobee63: that’s what everyone was saying on here! Lol. That I threw up on it! Lmao. I haven’t seen any bees try it on!

buttaflybride: Ooh, I’m sure I did if it’s Rosa Clara, haha! 🙂 I’ve got a bit of preggo brain going on these days, so apologies if my memory is not screwed on properly, lol!
Mrs.Z.: Also a pretty dress, but I agree that somehow the bottom part doesn’t look quite right on you! 🙂

buttaflybride: I’m actually drooling over that dress. Haha.
This was the worst one, to me. I had seen it on tons of other plus sized brides, and it always looked fantastic. It just made me look like a box.

I’ll play! It was a gorgeous dress but it defininetly wore me instead of me wearing it. It was the only dress with a full skirt that I tried on. I tried on a few other duds but didn’t even bother taking pictures of them.

I went to one bridal boutique by myself to try on bridesmaids dresses (I was going for sleek, sheath, super-simple, under $300). The saleswoman did the whole, “but you’re the bride, don’t you want to at least try something more BRIDAL?!” thing, and when she brought me some dresses to try on, she included a mermaid fit-and-biiiig-flair style wedding gown. So I tried it on, and, omg. She cinched me so tight into the fitted part from my upper back to my knees, where the dress proofed out. I could barely move my legs. I had to take itty bitty tiny steps to get to the mirror where I could see myself. I don’t even remember what I thought of the look of the dress, because at one point I started to lose my balance and couldn’t get a leg out far enough to right myself, and the saleswoman had to grab my arm and yank me upright. So of course I started cracking up. I remember her saying, “look how small it makes your waist look” in an irritated way, but I was imagining myself taking two hours to walk down the aisle with teensy little steps, and laughing. I pitty-pattered over to a couch and tried to sit, but the fitted part was too tight to bend over in, so of course I laughed even more at the idea of wearing a dress I can’t sit in. The saleswoman had enough of me at that point, and said coldly, “brides generally don’t sit at their weddings, anyway”. True, maybe, but lady, I’d like the OPTION.
I still wonder how women pee in mermaid-style dresses. Hats off to any of the brides here who were able to make one work!

Mrs.Z.: Funny story, I went to the salon, it was my first time ever trying dresses on, and I told the girl “I don’t care, I will try anything and everything. Bring me the most ugly/ridiculous dress you have here and I’ll try it on happily”
That’s the dress that she brought me. I actually loved it on. It was a solid contender, but I ultimately decided it was too heavy for me. I found a pic of it online in all Ivory instead of the Ivory/Antique Gold, and it almost became a contender again!

ohnatto: “don’t you want to at least try something more BRIDAL?”

Ha they do that there too? Wear a White dress plus all the accoutrements, you are plenty ‘bridal’

ohnatto: I knew I didn’t want a mermaid but wanted to try one on. I literally shuffled out of the fitting room, and the whole time thought “how in the heck will I walk down the aisle at the beach in this??” 😉

I saw an ugly pnina that looked like it was straight out of gatsby so I had to try it on to see what it looked like… I also tried on a similar lazaro. Ewww.
Then this pink cupcake dress…
And finally…the cow utters. I’ve seen this dress on SYTTD so many times and cringe every time. I wanted to try it on to see how ridiculous it looked.
