I want to share on my horrible experience looking for a wedding gown. I had a $500 credit at the bridal shop store at mamaroneck, NY (we bought all the bridesmaids dresses there for my brothers wedding, and the 2 mothers dresses, we returned one dress).
We are not local (we came from overseas) and now is my turn to get married, so naturally we wanted to go back to the store we have credit in, to possibly find a wedding gown or another mother of the bride dress.
We had made the trip (2.5 hours) to the store that only takes appointments, but NEVER answers the phone to make one, on Wednesday, walk in hours. I found a few dresses and spoke to the store owner Merrel, to refresh his memory about the credit. He was nice, said it was completely fine, even gave us a nice discount on the dress that I liked and we wrote on a piece of paper the credit he approved and the new price for the dress. I wanted to sleep on it and be back after the weekend. the sales lady told me she will be at the store on Sunday.
I tried to make an appointment to come back on Sunday, called and left voicemails, never got a call back. I took the trip to the store again. When I came back to the store, I was told very brutally, that the credit that was approved is no longer valid, they are not willing to sell me a dress, I was very shocked to hear this and tried to argue. Samantha (that was not there when her father approved the credit) was extremely disgusting and unhelpful. She was not willing to help in any way, just literally wanted to kick us out of the store and did not even seem to care that at at point I was crying my eyes out as a bride with no dress, wasted money, time, dragging my sick mom in the train. I'm absolutely shocked and disguised by the whole experience and am writing this post just because I feel it is my business to make sure brides stay away from this store.
Hoping I will find my dress with a store who is willing to respect itself and it's clients a lot better (I really hope there are stores out there).
Best to all (but Samantha from the bridal shop.com)
