So I am still deciding between a few bm dresses, but this is one my bridesmaid actually found and emailed me. And i think its very cute AND i know all my bms will love it. BUT

I really wanted all the bms to wear big necklaces with their dresses. I love that look and I already have some necklaces picked out. Would they look okat with this dress or would it be overkill in the neck area?

ps. please don't suggest doing a small necklace. I will change the bridesmaid dresses before the kind of necklace. Just wanted to let u all know so we didnt get a whole board suggesting that lol

With that neckline, I would keep it simple.

Edited, I missed the last paragraph for some reason.  I would change the dress if you are set on the necklaces.

I voted too busy. Change the dress like you mentioned or opt for dramatic earrings. If this is your MOH dress then maybe she can wear this with statement earings and cuff. The other BMs can wear something that will allow for the type of necklace that you want.

Edit: I'm thinking of short earrings.

i say fun earings! no necklace with that dress, so change it!! Somthing strapless or with thin straps would be fun with a chunky necklace

the ruffles plus a huge necklace would be too much. I agree with the big earrings idea!

so everybody is in agreement that this would be too busy. That's what I was kind of leaning towards too....Can I pose a second question in the same topic? What about this dress? I think its pretty similar, but actually cheaper, and a necklace might work better with it :)Would a chunky necklace look okay with this bridesmaid dress? : wedding Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The necklace would work wonderfully with that second dress as long as it doesn't have that strap, IMO.

@tksjewelry:  Agree.  A big necklace with that strap makes it too much.  For necklaces like the ones you're looking at, you'll need strapless dresses.

@katiee0707:  re: 2nd dress? not with that strap. the 1st dress would even be a better choice over that because at least it would have symmetry.

The straps would compete with the necklaces.

P.S. I LOVE the statement necklaces!

I'm worried about doing strapless, thats the only problem. One of my bms is a little larger and and I think she would feel a bit uncomfortable in a strapless dress. She never wears strapless. None of my bms do really. I'll have to be on the lookout for a dress with thin straps! If anyone has any in mind, please let me know! :)

Thanks everyone for being so helpful

ps. one more thing, i did think about doing bigger earrings but I never really notice earrings on bridesmaids and I always notice necklaces. Even in pictures. So that is why I am leaning away from that a bit

Awesome dress, awesome necklaces, but with those straps and necklaces together it'll look cluttered.

Strapless dresses in the same colour/sytle would look cool!

@katiee0707:  My girls wanted straps.  So, I went for thin ones.  I think something similiar would look fine with a statement necklace!

@katiee0707:  If you need straps, then I would go with simple straps.  Then the necklace would stand out and not look crowded.

@melisslp:  Your bridesmaids look gorgeous! And i really think a necklace would work better with straps like those. Where are the dresses from?

@katiee0707:  They wore Bill Levkoff Style 419.  It is a two piece, a-line, European satin gown with thin spaghetti straps.  I felt it was flattering for all of my girls that ranged in size from a 2 up to a 24/26. Good Luck!

I guess I'm in the minority but I think that yellow dress would look great with a bold necklace! (Not a personal fan of the 3rd necklace, but whatever)
