- Wedding: July 2014
I’ve seen the ivory vs white debate on here many times, but I have a slightly different colour and debate on my hands.
My wedding dress is an off-white, possibly ivory lace with natural dupion silk. The natural silk colour is not white or ivory, so I have been back and forth with myself about how it might look next to white linens. Initially, I was going to rent dusty rose tablecloths to eliminate the debate altogether (my colours are blush, dusty rose, gold, and touches of green), however I realized then that I would have to order my backdrop, head table, guest book table, and cake table linens all in dusty rose or another suitable colour and that would add to what was already quite pricey.
Since the white linens are free, they are much more realistic option, and I could dress them up with table runners, but I haven’t always been the biggest fan of them. I thought maybe it could help by using ivory table runners and/or napkins, that way it adds in ivory AND white together as part of the theme, but I don’t want my dress to look dirty or strange nonetheless.
Anyways, as you can see I am encountering quite the colour dilemma, and despite all of my bridesmaids telling me that it will be dim in the venue so it won’t be a big deal, I can’t shake the feeling.
Have any of you ever seen natural silk next to white and can comment? Maybe there is a table runner solution that I haven’t seen yet? Any insight/advice would be appreciated!
