Alright, so my dress is a touch too tight through the neckline (I am ‘blessed’ with an extremely large chest!) and I’m wondering if adding a corest back to this dress would look silly. The only reason I’m concerned is because of the beading….will splitting it up look odd?
I have a meeting with a seamstress this week so I’ll ask her too but figured there were great minds here who could also advise me 🙂
P.S. I will be wearing it without the cap sleeves 🙂

Im not sure, I suggest google searching corset back dresses for any with beading

It’s kinda hard to tell how the beading plays out without a close-up, but I think the lace-up style would look good with this dress. And with your ‘blessings’, it may help give you some extra support in keeping the dress up, especially if you dont have straps/sleeves.
Another idea- does the beading go all the way aorund? Could a seamstress add some material under the arms to give you some extra room?

I don’t think it would look bad at all! Love corset backs for the fit 🙂

I think it would look fine. I actually tried on a few dresses that were beaded and the beading stopped around the corset. I think the key would be continuity. I would want to make sure that the beading isn’t different around where the corset is altered in, to ensure that it still flows.

Thanks everyone!!! Yes, the beading goes all the way around — my mother and I discussed adding on the sides but it just couldn’t be done
I, too, think the corset will help me keep the girls from going off without adult supervision 🙂
