To have just a father/daughter dance but no Mother/Son dance?

I don't think so.  My mother would have preferred it even.  I only wanted the one, but equality had me voted down. 

His mom HATES dancing, and my dad has been looking foward to this all my life and I would feel terrible letting him down.

No i don't think it's weair. FI's mom passed when he was 12 and his fatehr remarried when he was 15. He and is step mom are cool and all but he has made it clear that he will not be doing a mother son dance at all.

So I say to each his own.
