I did. The first dress I bought just because it fit well and my friends talked me into it. I cried for two days knowing my mistake.

I bought a second dress and still ended up with dress regret again. It is way better than the first but not everthing I wanted. I ended up keping the second one after putting in on some preowned websites and not getting any takers.

Honestly, I don’t think I would have ever found the “perfect” dress.

I did not sell the first one because I really didn’t pay a whole lot for it and I know I won’t really get anything for it.

I’ll probably donate it sometime.

I bought three dresses, so YES this does happen but probably not frequently. I bought my first dress on my first trip looking at dresses; luckily it was from Nordstrom wedding shop so it was fully returnable. I then looked for a few weeks and bought dress #2 which I LOVED. However, we had not picked our venue yet and when we decided on the mansion, this dress simply did not fit the venue. I am selling this dress now, and it’s brand new so I’m thinking it will sell. I bought my third dress a few weeks ago and I’m incredibly happy with it. In retrospect what I did was dumb, but I’m really glad I didn’t keep the first dress!

I just bought my third dress a week before my wedding. My first one was absolutely perfect for the courthouse elopement we were planning but alas my parents found out and put the kibosh on that one. The second one I got when we decided on a beach wedding but when output together our wedding board I realized the bridesmaids looked nicer than I did NO BUeno so now I am on my 3rd and final wedding dress and finally I love it. I will definitely be keeping my second because it’s actually a beach coverup from Victoria secret lol but the first 2 I will probably sell for other women who have the same oh crap moment I did.

I bought one dress. I loved it. I showed it to my mother who was horrified that it was not white (it was ivory) and told me I should not wear it and she was uncomfortable if I did because, GASP, what would my grandmother think!?!?! She hated the dress so much that I as literally in tears and she said I must find a new dress.

I called the bridal salon in tears and they said there was nothing that they could do I had to keep my original dress or I could lose the deposit. I was so sad. I was freaking out about finding another dress. The next weekend I went to another salon and found a new dress. It is a one shoulder dress (very trendy) and I can guarantee my mother will hate it even more than the ivory dress but it is white and that was her criteria. (Muhahaha)

About a month after my dress fiasco, the bridal salon called me and said they decided I could put the money toward a different dress. So I went back to the bridal salon and tried on all the dresses and had no luck so I had other dresses from the designers shipped in and then I finally found my dress.

The orignal dress was replaced and the super trendy dress will be worn for the reception.

I did. I bought the first dress for all the wrong reasons. I had been trying on dresses for three days and felt like I either looked “too old” (I’m 35) or my rear end looked to wide in all of them.  I kept waiting for “that moment” everyone talks about but never had it so I figured (after 50 dresses) I never would. I bought my first dress because it “looked the most flattering” on my figure. The problem was that it didnt reflect my personality at all. I had wanted something sophistocated and modern and the first dress had pick ups and looked too princess-like. Big disconnect. After searching and searching for ways to modify the dress to be more modern I just called up the salon and told them to keep my deposit – I was moving on. It was as if a concrete block had been lifted off my chest – I cant emphasize how good it felt to be free of the dress even if I did lose a good chuck of money.

I lost 10 pounds in 6 weeks, made 9 appointments with salons within 150 miles of my home, and after 3 weeks found “the dress”. I even had “the moment” which was very rewarding.

I look back on photos of dress number one and it doesnt look so bad. I dont even hate it the way I did when I fixated on it daily. If you’re struggling with your choice and have the time to reflect, back away from looking at your dress for 3 weeks. Stop looking at all dresses during that time. Then in 3 weeks either go try on the dress again. If you still have regrets and can afford to lose money, change it.

(embarrased sigh) I did.

I was trying to save money and I had tried on a couple of pre-owned dresses via craigslist in my area. they didn’t fit and they were so heavy and intense gowns that I realized that I a) didn’t want a train, and b) would buy a cheap one from David’s Bridal.

I obviously didn’t do my research because I didn’t know there was a DB across the border a few hours where I could try them on, so I ordered two online, so I felt like I had a choice.

When they arrived I didn’t LOVE either of them, but I was trying to just make a decision and be done with it. Not sure why I was rushing this IMPORTANT detail of my wedding.

anyway… months went by and the one I had chosen (returned the other, no prob) had just been hanging in my closet, tags still on. Tried it on again… and hated it.

felt really bad and guilty because I wanted a different dress.

one day soon after I just followed my intuition to a local bridal shop (i hadn’t even checked out the local stores first before my online DB purchase! duh)

I looked at the sale rack and much to my surprise I found a strapless sweetheart lace, ivory. I though I’d never be able to afford a lace dress! it fit like a glove!! i felt so beautiful in it. and it was $199!!!!

i mulled it over for two days and then went back and bought it. I’m so glad I did!

i’m still trying to sell my first dress, hopefully i will since it’s new, but I talked to Customer Service at DB and they said they would issue a return if I buy in equal value, so i may still make a trip into WA to buy a dress with my Mom and maybe another one I can wear for formal events. then it’s not a total loss.

I bought a second dress while i was waiting for my first dress to come in. I was convinced I wanted something more fitted, more mermaid-ish. The second dress came in before the first, and I thought I loved it, but once the first came in I fell back in love. I wish I hadn’t bought the second dress. It’s now for sale.

I don’t feel too bad because dress 2 was really inexpensive. I now know that I can have my first dress altered to be more fitted, then it will be exactly what I want.

I did!! I have technically only owned 2 but the 2nd one was bc DB ruined my original and I had “to pick a replacement that day” and I got stuck with something I didn’t 100% love… OH MY DRESS ADVENTURES!!! Since last march 2011 I have been dress shopping on and off because we were supposed to marry on the 22nd of this month but pushed it back due to my job loss in Aug. BUT… Now  that I have won my dream dress I am soooo happy and content, this is it!!

I bought a second dress… and then a third… 🙂  I love wedding dresses.  I cannot decide on what I want to look like on my wedding day because I LOVE WEDDING DRESSES.  I should just have one of these every 10 years…. 🙂

I went to Priscilla of Boston on a whim because I had ALWAYS wanted to get my wedding dress from there and felt pressured when they were going out of business.  I loved my dress.  It was the first one I tried on. My consultant had the same last name of me. Her daughter’s name was the same as mine. She put me in a necklace that I LOVED (and am still wearing with my new dress – yay!) that she wore on her wedding day. We were wearing almost identical outfits…. ok, these didn’t honestly play a factor in buying my dress but after I started to have dress regret I tried rationalizing my decision with these funny coincidences saying it must be “meant to be”.

Nope, I decided it wasn’t meant to be.  (With that said, I still LOVE the dress – I have never stopped, just decided it wasn’t right for my vision.) So then I was stalking Weddingbee.  I purchased a second dress that made my heart stop when I saw it.  Then I saw it in person…. and it made my heart stop even more!  I am obsessed with it!  I would just stare at it imaginging myself on my wedding day…. trying to imagine myself on my wedding day…. realizing that I couldn’t imagine myself in it on my wedding day?  Crap.  I had done it again.  I love the dress.  Let me reiterate – I LOVE THE DRESS!!!!  I want to change my venue so I can wear it.  But that would cost a heck of a lot of money, so once again I realized i had to get a new dress.

So less than 6 months til my August wedding, I frantically lined up several appts and fell in love for a 3rd, 4th, and 5th time.  (Did I say how much I love wedding dresses?)  But I chose the 5th time love and I now have no regrets.  It’s sooooooo me and I can’t wait to wear it on my day.

I did things the wrong way.  I still have the other two up for sale, and if I sell them awesome, and if I don’t, I guess it’s not the end of the world.  I do wish I had realized what I wanted BEFORE buying two dresses, but it’s ok.  I ended up with the right one in the end!  Now I’m just crossing my fingers (any my toes, and my hair, and my…. eyes?) that it comes in time!!!!!!
