A friend is getting married in 2 months and I was invited to go. This will be the first wedding I’ve ever been to so I’m not sure as to what is appropriate. On the invitation it says semi formal for the evening wedding reception. Would this navy dress in the picture below be inappropriate? The dress on me is longer and hits just above the kneecap because I’m shorter than the model. I’m afraid I might somehow offend the bride by getting attention with the sequins and am well aware of the fact that she is the star of that day, not me.

I think that dress looks nice and classy. Maybe bring a shrug to cover your bare shoulder if the wedding is taking place in a church; some churches are more conservative than others.

looks perfectly fancy and respectable to me!

Oops! I accidentally voted that its innopropriate because sequins, but I totally checked the wrong box! I meant to say “it’s fine”. ignore that vote! It’s great!!

I think you’re right on target. That dress looks classy and totally appropriate. If it were 100% covered in sequins, that could be another story. 😉

I think the dress looks appropriate and not at all bridal, so go for it 🙂

It’s totally fine! When I opened this post I expected the entire dress to be sequins, so a little bit on the front is not even close to being an issue.

I clicked thinking I’d see a Jessica Rabbit type long bright sequinned dress, lol. You’re totally fine!
