I am thinking of getting a quilt made to fit the bed. I want each square on the quilt to represent something in our relationship. For example, on one square I want the Pink Panther because that was the movie we saw on our first date, etc. I want to make the entire quilt about everything about us up until the Wedding day where there will be a square with our wedding date saying “Happily ever After”. This will probably cost me around $300 but do you think this would be a good gift? Any suggestions? I am going to have it made unless I can somehow figure out how to do all this myself. LOL

I think it would be a good housewarming gift but I don’t know if a man would like this as his specific gift. You can probably do the squares yourself if you have basic sewing skills and then have the official quilting part done by a professional.

I think it would be a wonderful gift; depending on the guy. You both could use it to cuddle under and/or he could use it as his TV blanket or when he gets sick. I think that it is a very thoughtful gift. My FI would love it, so I think yours would too.

I think it is a nice gift but I would probably make a smaller blanket-type quilt and not a bed cover. It’s hard to fit a collage quilt into a specific color palette you may want for your bedroom.

I think this is a very thoughtful gift but I’m not sure a man would appreciate it/like it. My FH is pretty evolved as far as men go and still I think this would be too girly for him.

I agree with the other ladies. While it sounds like a really nice (sentimental) gift, I’m not sure many guys would appreciate it. If I received that as a gift I would probably admire it, fold it up, and stick it away in my window seat :/

I asked FI about this – he didn’t like it. He admitted (after I asked) that it was sweet, but not something he would want for a wedding gift.
Personally, I think that is a really wonderful gift.

That sounds like a beautiful gift and I’m actually doing one too 🙂 But I’m making it for us and showing him when it’s done as a surprise…my actual gift for him are boudoir photos done (my cousin is taking them) of me that I’m going to give him on our night before the wedding. It’s extremely personal, sweet, and something he will for sure like 🙂

I think that would be a great wedding gift, and I think my guy would like it. Do you think this is something yours would like?

I think it totally depends on the guy. I think it’s the kind of gift that most of us wish our FI would think to get for us! Really nice idea and you are a sweetheart for thinking of it, but I agree with PPs that if your FI is a guy’s guy, it may not be right for him.

ehhh, it may be a cute gift if given with something else. and it probably shouldn’t be for your bed because then it’s like a gift for you too. if you can make it into a comfy lounge blanket, he may appreciate it.
