    Paint a room brown?  I'm trying to decide what color to paint our second bedroom and I'm really liking brown.  The room has a built in desk and two seperate closets so I think it could handle the brown because it'll have a nice contrast to the white desk/closets and furniture.  I'm just not sure if brown is too dark. :-/  This is the color I want to use http://www.buyaurapaint.com/sw-6046.html  It's hard to really tell the color from that picture though because of the blue background.  It looks much darker on the color card.  So would you paint a room brown?  I don't mean should I paint it brown, I mean would you personally.  :-)

    Absolutely! With white trim and the right furniture, I think that color would look amazing.

    It could also end up being lighter on the wall then you think it will end up. Very classy in my opinion - I'd might match it with bright white like Nachos suggested.

    That's a very pretty color!  Just make sure to not have brown furniture or it would look very blah!

    I might! Then again, I'm really drawn to brighter, bolder colors like green, blue, purple, and yellow, so brown would be low on my priority list. I think it would be lovely in a bedroom or study. :)

    I agree with ppl.  Our bedroom is a dark tan (not quite brown) with white furniture and navy blue bedding.  I love it!

    I absolutely would.  Our room is a dark tan type color.  I wanted a clean tropical resort look so the bedding is white with a smattering of brown flowers.  The color looks great with our dark bathroom cabinet.

    My sister did and it looks really good.  As long as it matches with your furniture.

    @jingle96

    Are you putting your furniture together?  I have always been the one to put furniture together.  The DH put something together and didn't bother looking at the directions and it was really messed up.  I had to take everything apart and redo it.  Really, men refuse to follow directions!!

    We painted 3 walls of our bedroom a brownish color. It looks fab and fresh with our yellowy green accent wall. You'll have to look in my old posts since I'm at the airport and can't link you myself. The RIGHT shade of brown is great, the wrong shade look like a monkey threw poop

    I'm a chicken when it comes to painting, so I'd start out with just an accent wall. However, if that looked good, I'd progress to doing the rest of the room.

    My SIL painted my nieces room brown. Then she put circle cutouts of varying sizes in fuschia, lime green, yellow, and blue. She finished it off with vivid rugs and bedding and my niece LOVES it.

    I think I'm going to do it :-)  I have white shelves very similar to jingle's (your room looks great btw)  I'm also going to do a white wall decal on one of the walls. Maybe one of these http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=39648912&ref=sr_gallery_19&&ga_search_query=flower+wall+decal&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=5&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title

    I think there will be enough white so the brown wont be over powering. I'm excited!

    Thanks for the link krissy.  Thanks for all of the responses!

    Our bedroom IS painted brown.  But we don't own the house.  It wouldn't be my choice in color (I'm much more a light color neutral walled person) but it looks nice.

    I'm a little tardy to this party but I wanted to mention that YES, I definitely would. We painted our Master kind of a burnt orange/sunset color and I'm not entirely happy with it. Don't think it'll be good for resale eventually either. Brown is what I'm thinking if I get the time and courage to repaint it...

    Our master bath has been painted brown TWICE - the first time I picked a bad color choice and wrong sheen.  I went with it for a few months before re-doing the whole thing in a different shade.  try out a couple different samples when you chose your color and GO for it!
