Those names aren’t even close. But, even if we were the same name I don’t think the one due first can have a monopoly on the name.

I wouldn’t care. They are both “C” names, but are each different and unique. 🙂

Not at all! Those names are different! And they may not even be friends when they do have kids!

I voted that I don’t know how I’d feel, because I don’t. I don’t have children, so I don’t know how I would feel emotionally during and after pregnancy. So I could get all crazy irrational and be pissed about it.

Logically, though, I would know that it is a silly thing to become upset about, especially since they expressed interest in the name prepregnancy.

No, I don’t really think those names are that similar, but I also don’t really think it’s a big deal for people to have the SAME name outside of maybe immediate family.

Yeah, those are different names, so I don’t understand why anyone would care.

i will NEVER understand the hangup over names. what tangible negative effect can anyone possibly point to that springs from someone naming a child a similar, or even the exact same for that matter, name? I only see negative outcomes from getting hung up on it, such as friendships being harmed, joy over the new baby being clouded a bit, etc.

I’m not trying to downplay your feelings or anyone’s, this just mystifies me every single time.

I wouldn’t think it mattered at all. The names are not the same, the only time that might be a little strange is if they were sisters, but even then I think the names are obviously different enough that it’s no biggie.
