...in setting up some kinda gathering for Philly area hive members? I know I'd love to meet the people behind the posts!
Any thoughts or ideas?
Yippee! Okay ladies, we need a plan. Location suggestions? And a few dates that work well for the crowd? I'm actually pretty open on July and August weekend days...and would suggest a place outside of the city proper (Main Line or SJ) for parking ease.
I'm in too (even though I don't post as much as some!) July 12 is my bridal shower but most other days in July/Aug work for me.
June and early July work best for me because the bar exam is the end of July and I know that I will be a huge ball of stress by the middle of July and I don't want to inflict anyone but FI and law school friends with the mess that will be angiepangie. I agree with the idea to head out to the Main Line, maybe The Woodern Iron in Wayne (http://www.woodeniron.com/). I've been there with groups of girlfriends in the past and had a great time at their monthly wine tasting!!
Hey Magpie,
We'll totally try to put something together! Early July seems to sound pretty good.
I'd love to come! But being car-less, would it be possible to pick somewhere close to public transit? Or I could always carshare it.
I'm going to be in Philly doing wedding stuff the weekend of July 19th, so I'd be in if it's around then!
count me in, looks like we are all available these days:
July 11, 12, or 27. tell us what works best!
12's a no-go for me -- it's Mama MagPie's b-day. The 27th sounds good, though. Any other location suggestions? If anyone's up for SJ, I recommend Cork, Tortilla Press or the Pop Shop. And is this a girls' gathering, or are FIs fair game as well? :-)
As much as I love MagPie's suggestions (they are all within 10 minutes of my house) Philly is really the halfway point for SJ and PA suburbs. July 26th or 27th would work for me.
I don't even have to ask, I already know my fiance will not want to come to this with me. :)
I won't be able to do anything later than the 15th probably (bar exam is the 29th-31st) but I'll be with you ladies in spirit if I can't make it!
Hmmm, I hear ya ynich. Maybe something with easy access to public trans/PATCO?
Ooh, this sounds like so much fun! If it falls on a weekend I don't have a wedding, I'll be there! I agree, Center City Philadelphia will probably be the easiest for everyone.
More Than Just Ice Cream? Nodding Head? Somewhere in Reading Terminal? Any takers?
It might depend on how many people we have, since we'll have to make sure there is enough room! Should we make it an outdoor picnic kind of thing or something else in a public place where space won't be an issue? Kind of like the NYC potluck picnic that never was?
I know I am not a very frequent poster, but I would love to come if the date works out!
We certainly can try for an outside gathering. Washington Square or Rittenhouse? And do we want to do a picnic/potluck "theme" as well? My only concern is the weather, but we could always reschedule, I guess...
what about creperie beau monde? we can definitely make reservations for a party of 6 or more for brunch or dinner time. the place looks cute and the crepes are to die for! :) tell me what yo think!

if anyone else can find a place w/reservations in the south philly, center city area, feel free to share!
Also, what's a good date for everyone, seems like most can make 27th? 12th?
I am in too! July 27th and 12th would both work for me. Beau Monde would be great. I am a periodic poster and a frequent reader. Looking forward to meeting all of you!
mmmmmmmmmm crepes. that gets my vote since whenever i go outside in this weather my body feels like it's melting. i'm free on the 27th and 12th since i have no life ;)
I vote on the 27th -- since I can't make the 12th, and want to come to the gathering I proposed!
All in favor?
I'm pretty new to the philly boards, but if the dates work out I'd love to come as well!
I can do the 27th, too! And Mrs. Bellpepper, crepes sound fantastic!
I haven't posted on the boards in a while, but i'd love to meet up! Anywhere in the city is good for me. and preferably not July 12th (that's the weekend I'm getting married!). I hope it works out!
I would love to meet up. I have my bachelorette party on the 26th and the 27th will work for me.
So...July 27th? Crepes at 6th and Bainbridge? The final missing piece is...what time?
Their Sunday hours are 10am-10pm. I know that sunday brunch can be really busy at beau monde, so we may want to do it later in the afternoon (although if we have a reservation, maybe that wouldn't matter). either way, i'll be there - it's just 4 blocks from my apartment!
Later in the afternoon sounds good to me. Maybe...2 or 3 p.m.? And how many on the reservation? I'm counting me, silly, bell pepper, cupcake, codogg, jenniek, amdjvm, ATbride, msgirard, chill, ynichole, MissSauce and snowpea -- so, lucky 13? Am I leaving anyone out?
I think Candy Corn is also in..... YO CC, YOU IN?????? ![]()
Maybe we should count how many there are and then add 3 or 4 just to be on the safe side, in case there are others who want in but haven't read this board? We can always decrease the reservation later, but I always feel like adding more people as it gets closer creates more problems....
2 or 3 pm sounds great.... I'll be there whenever it is!
No wedding scheduled, so I will be there! Looking forward to meeting all of you!
yep, i'm in and mr. candy corn wanted to come to meet the bees and locals too if that's ok! if no peenies are invited, he'll understand :)
