Absolutely! It’s such an economical way to get an affordable dress…I will definitely look into it if I can’t find an affordable dress that I like at David’s Bridal this weekend!

I would have, but my mom didn’t like the idea and I didn’t bother to argue with her.

Definately! It’s only been worn for a few hours, so as long as there’s not big spots it’s practically new.

I have an appointment next week at the The Brides Project in Toronto. Brides donate their dresses, others buy them with proceeds going to various charities benefiting cancer research. Not sure if I will find my dress there but I will definitely donate mine.

I would, but I’d be so nervous it wouldn’t look right (I would hope I could try it on before buying it).

It’s not that I would be against buying a used dress, but I would be scared that it wouldn’t fit me. Especially if they had alterations done. I guess if you buy a size or two up this wouldn’t be as much of a concern, but that is the only thing that would hold be back from doing it.

@deefirecracker:  You should check out Bridal & Beyond (wrong place) Gown & Glory as well if you haven’t already! I found Angela’s selection much better, although she does not donate to charities.

I would absolutely have bought a used gown, just didn’t find the right one!

Yes, my dress was second hand! My mom bought it off a friend & it was made at a local shop. I loved it! Plus it was under 100 dollars (because she was a friend.)

I will be selling my dress. Mine is new though, I bought it from someone from weddingbee who changed their mind about the dress. So it’s kinda secondhand right?

@kimmyfitz:  I love the idea as well. My fiancé Mom kicked Breast cancers ass so it is meaningful to us. I bet your fiance will kick cancers ass as well!
