I would never purchase a gown without trying it on first, or at the very least trying the style on, to see if it would flatter my figure.

If you are considering purchasing a gown online, make sure you research the company very thoroughly. And ask for pictures of a finished gown. A lot of the online retailers make replica gowns that you may or may not be disappointed with.

I bought my dress online.  I think the key to this is knowing what styles work for your body–and making sure the return policy is fair.

I would definitely suggest at least trying on similar styles before buying a dress online. Personally, I would never buy my wedding dress online without having tried on that exact dress.

I would not purchase a gown without trying it on first.  Are you able to call local bridal salons and see if they have any of the dresses you like?

ETA: I just saw your response.  Are they able to order samples of the dresses?

I don’t think I’d buy without trying on the exact dress or at least something VERY similar.

I’m considering doing this but only because I’ve tried on a similar style and I know it will work with my body type. Its also CHEAP so if it didn’t work out, I’m sure I could re-sell it or eat the cost without seriously affecting our budget.

I agree with previous posts. I would go and try on similar styled dresses to make sure you are happy with the fit. I picked out five dresses that I loved online and I loved them all when I tried them on, BUT I also had the chance to try on some dresses I would not have expected to like. I originally said no lace and my dress has a lot of lace. I also think the overall dress shopping experience was so much fun!!

I fell in LOVE with a dress, but I released it from my mind because I could not try it on.  What I did was try on similar gowns with the same silhouette.  I found that the silhouette I assumed would be most flattering on me, was the least!  I still have a dream about the dress, but I know deep in my heart that the dress I purchased is the best dress for me.  Hope this helps you!  😉  Good Luck!

I don’t buy anything without trying it on!  Especially not something that’s expensive!  Primarily because any item might look good on the hanger but it might not look so good on me!  And, in turn, sometimes things look odd on a hanger and look amazing once they’re on!

I never buy anything without trying it on either and I wouldn’t do it with my wedding dress! However, I know it’s worked for some people. I just know I can never tell what will look good on me until I try it on!
