    Not sure what castor sugar is.  Did you ever figure it out, Mrs. DG? I'm making 5 layer bars for dessert tomorrow.  Not so traditional, but oh well.

    Castor sugar is ultrafine sugar that is good for meringues, carmelizing and other baked goods... so called from the British who would "cast" it through a "caster".  Ah, the google!
