I think they're both GORGEOUS!!! If I had to pick ONE, I would pick the black one.
LOVE the red one! the black one is fun too...but for some reason (maybe b/c it's red) I'm just really drawn towards the first one you posted. It just screams fun and fabulous! Go for it!
I'm sure it comes in other colors and I love the black one too ... could I do black for a bridesmaid? I just really love the dress and I was oblivious to the fact that it'sblack! I got it in a slide show of NY fashion week designs .... would black be ok?
I love the red! That is such a gorgeous dress and great color of red!
I'm having my FSIL stand with me and that is all. We did a fancier full length dress that is black for her since she will be the only one!
You could totally do black...especially b/c your wedding is in October. You could use your flowers to throw in a splash of color! Black and white weddings are very classy!
Black can totally work if you like it! I'm only having my sister too and she didn't want to wear black though b/c she felt a lot of guests will be wearing black.
Both are quite beautiful. I would just want to make sure that your sister could walk in whichever one is chosen. The black one looks a little tight at the ankles (from what I can tell in the picture), and the red could be a little restricting depending how far down on the leg it would hit her. I love the mermaid style of dress though... a lot of it just depends on where it goes from fitted to flare.
Good luck... and I think getting a stunning dress for your sister is an awesome way to go ![]()
Oh, and black is totally ok. You're doing a black tie affair... and black has lost a lot of its previous "taboo" status for weddings. It's formal, elegant, and classic. It'll be fine.
They are both FANTABULOUS!
Since my only BM is my sister as my MOH, I am also having her wear a non-Bridesmaid dress. It will look great not having her in the typical BM dress and lucky her she can pull it off a lot better than I can.
They're both beautiful, but I especially like the red (mostly because sequins give me 80s flashbacks). Another nice thing is, since you are just having your sister, she can pick something SHE wants to wear, instead of you having to pick something as a compromise between three or four girls.
definitely love the un-bridesmaid bridesmaid dresses! those are beautiful!
Those are great. There's no reason to use any of the overwhealmingly boring bridesmaid options, expecially if you're only having one person standing. I went with non-bm dresses even though I have 3. These are both really beautiful options.
wonderful idea msHymanRoth! Its perfect! I am sure it's just your style and flare!
I think the red one is too "old" for a 15-16 year old. But I like the black one.
I assume that you're talking about finding something similar to these dresses? Not the exact? I love the idea of a non-BM dress, but think it's a very bad idea to dress a 16 year old in a $4000 BM dress. Look at net-a-porter, they have some great formal gowns right now. My favorite site.
i like the black dress style because it looks like you could relax and have a good time in that dress (ie, dancing, walking around) where the red one is very constrictive
RED ONE! I had a prom dress like that and it was AMAZING!
We're doing the LBD. But a short one. I love the red one. I would wear that again..but if it's in BLACK...TOTALLY RE-DOABLE.
I would completely do an un-Bridesmaid dress! I <3 the red one. =)
Yes! Do red. Most guests don't wear strong red, but lots of women will wear black to a black tie! HAUTE!
LOVE the first one, you should definitely opt for a show stopping dress!
my bridesmaids are wearing a knee length print dress (black and ivory). they are so pretty, and all the girls love them. it's an actually dress you can wear again.
Those dresses are both stunning. But I also think that if you're only having one person stand up for you, you should let her pick the dress. It only seems fair.
What do you think about this one? It's kinda youthful and super cute!
Might be a little "sexy" for a 16 year old though. I just really liked this and thought about you!

I am choosing to have no bridesmaids ... instead I will have my sister stand as my Maid of Honor. I think that since she's the only one standing ... she could wear something really amazing. Not just some plain bridesmaids'y dress- which I think are too plain and boring, pesonally.
What do you think?

P.S. My wedding is Black Tie and the ceremony begins at 6 pm and the reception is in a "grand ballroom" type of venue ...
