So I love my engagement ring and wedding band, and they go beautifully together, but I am now wondering if I need to get a spacer or not.  The engagement ring is 18k white gold with platinum prongs and my wedding band is pave 14k white gold band with both sides are bordered by a thin layer of gold.  Both of the bands are thin, 2mm wide.  There is a gap, since my engagement ring sits so low, but I was wondering if I'll need a spacer to prevent my wedding band from wearing down/scratching the prongs of the engagement ring and/or damaging the wedding band?  Since the prongs are platinum I know they are strong, and I've had one jeweler say it's no problem at all and another say it should be fine, but to take it off to sleep/activities etc.  After being married for one month I feel like there are tiny (really tiny, if any at all) dings in the prongs, but I'm not sure it's just me being paranoid or not (which is highly possible, lol).  My DH says I stress about things unecessarily, which he says I'm doing now, but he'll support me in whatever I choose haha.  If I were to get a spacer, it would probably be a 2mm plain white gold band, but I don't know if it's not necessary or not.  Any input would be most helpful!  Thanks in advance!

    P.S. I don't mind the gap either, so that's not a problem :-)

No, I think a spacer might ruin the elegant & classic/soft look of the rings!

I have a spacer and love it. Less stress for me and I actually like the look of it now. Gives it that extra UMPH!

Maybe instead of 2mm. get a 1mm spacer? That's what I have, the 2mm might overwhelm your ring wherese as 1mm might keep the look better.

I agree with Mrs.Estep and the only one who will see the little dings is you. Of course you don't want them there but they won't make your ring any less beautiful!
