@Vic_10_12:  Do you mean your not sure about them being set square on? Where is the ring from, are there any other images my eyes find this one hard to focus on for some reason

@Vic_10_12:  I don’t know if you could change the prongs on that ring…I think you’d have to get a different setting. I’m not personally a fan of gigantic prongs.

i think rounding out the oter edge would make a big difference. i do think though that the prongs are inkeeping with the style of the ring. I dont think i would change them.

When you boyfriend took you jewellery shopping, did you point any styles that you would choose if you had a choice? Did you voice your concern of this ring in his company. If you did there is a good chance he would take that into consideration before purchasing a ring.

@Vic_10_12:  i can see what you mean in that picture.

In that case i would say if hes having reservations, that probably wont be the ring he chooses. I did see one very similar in Samuels last year but not sure if they still carry it. It had different prongs though. Not sure if it was 3/4 or 1/2 carat though.

This is however a lovely ring. I think i would call those statement prongs!

@Vic_10_12:  I agree with your boyfriend that the prongs are really chunky and personally I would not be comfortable with that look. However, if that is the ring you picked out, I wouldn’t change the prongs to keep your BF happy so to speak. I think it would make the ring look lopsided. It’s all part of the total design. It’s really hard to say what it would look like because you wouldn’t know until after the jeweler had filed them down, and then it would be too late. I think you should pick out a design and stick with it as is, so you know what you’re getting.

@Vic_10_12:  OK, it looks totally different on.  With the higher carat stone, I think it will look much better.  If you can have them rounded out, great.  If not, I really think you’ll grow to love it!
