As a hobby, I make bath and body products. I have so much fun doing it and it is something I am known for among my friends and families. They loe my soap and are always asking me to make them more. I was thinking that for our fall wedding I could make an array of bath and body products (cold process soap, bath bombs, bath salts, body butter) in fall scents, put them in cute packaging and call it a day.
It is cute, useful, economical, and something that I already know how to do/make. I was just wondering if it is something that people would enjoy and take home instead of just leaving them on the table. Or would handmade bath and body products just be odd favors?
Scent ideas: Cinnamon sugar, cranberry, pumpkin spice, etc.

I’d like it but I’m pretty sure my Fiance wouldn’t. Oh well, he’d just hand it over to me!

Girls would like it. Being honest though I doubt most guys would like them. But guys probably don’t care about favors in general so don’t worry about that!

Can you make a soap for the guys that smells like beer?

I voted no simply because A, I think bath and body products are a really personal decision, especially when it comes to scent, and B, I wouldn’t know what to do with some of the products you mentioned. 🙂
Maybe if you picked one type of product (bar soap, body butter, etc) and one scent?
And I agree with PP that guys would definitely not know what to do with them. 🙂

I was about to post “I only like favors that are edible.” But I would like this. I can’t say that for the men though or for those with sensitive skin and or allergies to scents.

Hhmmm, I’ve always felt like fall scents are pretty unisex, like pumpkin. Or maybe my guy is just weird cause he steals my Lush soap, regardless of the scent. I could make like a ‘plain jane’ bar with no scnet or color, I do have friends with major allergies.

I say no – most men will probably not be interested, and if you have any guests with allergies or sensitive skin, this stuff can be pretty bad for that. They *sound* lovely, but my grouchy skin probably wouldn’t be happy.

I guess since I only have about 15 male guests, about 6 of them that use my soap regularly, I never really saw it much as aproblem, but maybe I should rethink my idea. I’ll see if the Fiance has any suggestions!

I would love them, but I dont think they would be good favours. Mostly because of the scent issue…I would imagine a room filled with smelly soaps, even if they are packaged, would irritate alot of people. Even ones who arent typically allergic to it.
These would make awsome Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts though!

Ok I actually take it back. Your having a smaller wedding. So then I think it would be fine. It WOULD be nice because you made the yourself.
I love cinnamon and pumpkin spice mm mmm

I think that it’s a great idea mostly because you are making them so it is personal. I think a little tag on the favor that says “handmade by __” would be a nice touch too.

I say YAY! Especially since a good portion of your friends use them already – it would be cute!
