I'm curious about how the hive feels about this.

Would you mail out invitations that had your designers logo and website printed on the envelopes and back on the invitation itself?

No way! If you are paying them, why should they get any advertisement! It's like when you buy a car and the dealer's sticker is on the back of it, annoying!

I think it would depend how noticeable it was.  I would say I probably wouldnt though.

Personally, No.  I'm a formal kinda gal and that isn't formal to me, lol. I want my invite suite to be all me and all my wedding. I mean this is the one time in my life it can be all ME, I can be narcissistic, HAHAHAHHAHAHAH....I don't want to market or advertise for something/someone else, not on my wedding invitation suite, Tongue out

    A big NO from me.

My wedding invites are not advertisements (we made our own so it wouldn't matter)

You know though, it's a bit weird because I don't mind artists signatures on artwork but I just feel like a logo is different.

If the logo was very very subtle and out of the way...maybe.  But in general no.

I had a friend ask me if I wanted to put a logo on a program I did for her, but that was b/c I did it for free for her at the last minute ;-) Under normal circumstances, I would say that wouldn't fly. I wouldn't WANT to put my logo on anything as formal as an invite suite.

Ehh probably not. Maaybe I'd be okay with it on the back of the STD, but not the invitation...

I just saw this for the first time on an invite my parents got! It was a gorgeous invite, like an 8 page booklet on cardstock-type paper and it cost almost $2 to mail, but the back of maybe every other page had the company's website on it. I guess that's how they afforded it? Personally, I'd pick a cheaper invite or DIY, but I guess it depends what your priority is.

I wouldn't mind it on the back - but I would if it was on the envelope.

I have an Etsy seller help me custom design my daughter's birthday invitations and she puts her Etsy link at the bottom corner of my invites.  This I do not mind because A) she's VERY inexpensive and does a fab job and B) I'm ALL FOR supporting a SAHM with her Etsy business.  However, if it were my wedding invites, I'd kindly ask to have NO logos anywhere on my formal invites...unless she was to offer me a discount for the advertising she's doing.

I am a designer and I designed my own invites and didn't even put my own logo on it. I hate when things are branded that way, especially when it doesn't fit with the design, but  I can also understand why someone would. Not for a wedding invite though and especially if they were custom designed.

I would have to say "no." Like the other girls have said, my wedding is not an advertisement oppourtunity. You should have the right to refer them if you want but if not they shouldnt put their logo on your invites and mess them up. I saw where a catering company put a BANNER across the length of the food table with their name, phone number and website at a wedding. I couldnt believe it. I think self-promotion of your vendors is wrong unless you give them permission.

I think a way to promote a small independent designer/business person (without having a logo on everything) would be to list on the back of the program who the invitations were done by.  I mean, not everyone would like that sort of thing, but if it's a vendor you love and want to get their name out there, that would be a way to do it.

nope. I have paid them and if someone is really wanting to know where I got them they can ask and I would tell....this is along the lines of the DJ announcing the caterer and their business at the reception, its a wedding not a commercial!

My STD Postcards had the comany's name as the seperation line between the address side and the side that our info was printed on. I was irritated by that. I feel like since I paid for the paper AND the printing, the company got free advertisement space.
