We know that we want to get married hopefully next September, which gives us 4 Saturdays. In Australia Father’s Day is always the 1st Sunday of September, which will be the 7th of next year.
If our venue was available on the 6th, do you think that guests would mind attending a wedding the day before Father’s Day? We will not have many out of town guests, and are aiming to wrap up our wedding by 11pm.

FYI the subject question and the poll question are oposite for yes or no so it might confuse the results.

I wouldn’t be bothered attending a wedding the day before father’s day. I don’t think in-town people would mind either. The out-of-town people would probably be bothered by it if they are accustomed to celebrating this holiday with their fathers.

@sunshinewish15: I don’t see a problem. Fathers’ Day isn’t an early start – for me, and for most people I know, it’s “see Dad when you can some time in the day”, which is usually lunch or later.

@LessIsMoore: Yeah, I almost clicked the wrong answer too, quite confusing.

I dont do much for Father’s Day aside from a barbeque or a late dinner so I would definitely attend.

It wouldn’t bother me either, in fact last year I went to a raucous bday party the day before Mother’s Day and a hens night the night before Father’s Day- a little worse for wear but no dramas!

Wouldn’t bother me even a bit. It’s not a big holiday at all.

my sister has her wedding ON mother’s day! she did have a large wedding (500 people) and everyone was invited as a family since the entire community knows each other, but really it’s not that big of a deal even if its ON the day of – you can always celebrate a holiday at any other time!

@sunshinewish15: I wouldn’t mind, but we had our wedding on Fathers Day. I hadn’t realised at the time of planning. No-one minded.

Before father’s day would not bother me in the slightest. Having it on father’s day would, though
