I’d much rather have the towels.

I would go for what she asked for in her registry. While the digital frame is a nice idea, I think it’s the kind of device that is used 1 or 2 times then it goes back into the box and stays there. My father was so happy when he bought his, and to this day I’ve only seen him use it twice. Now, when he wants to show pictures, he puts a USB directly into the TV. Many people have Ipads and electronics like that to display pictures. For all those reasons, I think your money would be invested better if you chose the registry. But if you feel like towels are not really that exciting of a gift, you can always add a little something that would feel more personal. 🙂

@HeartsandSparkles:  towels, definitely.  Go with what you know she wants.  While I appreciate the thought that went into every gift we got, I really appreciated when our guests stuck to the registry.

Towels, but I’ve nver been a fan of digital photo frames. You could throw in a gift card or something too if you think the towels are too little of a gift. That way she could buy something else she may want.

I voted towels… I love new towels so much.  I don’t want to register, but the only reason I’m even considering it is the possibility of getting new towels 🙂  So take my vote for what it’s worth, from a towel fanatic.

I would probably not use the digital picture frame, at all, ever.  I have one already that’s still in the box and never used.  I would much rather have the rest of the towels I registered for

Registry gift always trumps non-registry gift!

I’m totally in the minority here, but we got a digital picture frame for free from FI’s workplace and I LOVED it. I put it in the kitchen so that every time I washed dishes or cooked or cleaned, I would see sweet pictures of us. It was a bit of work combing through our millions of pictures to get the ones I liked on there, but it was SO worth it!
