I picked out this ring because I love the emerald shape…but it seems like every day my ring looks smaller and smaller. I know I shouldn’t, but I keep comparing it to all the rings I see that look so much bigger!! The center stone is .75 and my ring size is 5. Since my fiance didn’t choose it, I wouldn’t feel bad about exchanging it for maybe a round ring that has a bigger middle stone. What do you think?

@daisymae900: Add a poll. 1ct is average, so .75 is just slightly under average, but not small.

You should add a poll, but no! It’s definitely not small. I consider anything <.25 small.

this ring is beautiful and looks perfect.

I think it’s gorgeous. Don’t mistake the size of your stone for the shrinkage that occurs (naturally) from looking at rings online.

@daisymae900: Someone’s always going to have a bigger ring. Get a 1 carat, you’ll see 1.5. Get a 2 carat, you’ll see someone with 3.
Your ring is beautiful and you picked it out because you loved it. I think it’s the perfect size for your finger.

@daisymae900: Not small it’s lovely! My sister has a 0.75 ct (round) and size 5 fingers. It looks perfectly her size in person 🙂

I think its so pretty! You have to ignore some of the huge rings you see on here or elsewhere, especially if you hav your heart set on diamond! There are a lot of women with big budgets, and a lot with non-diamond white stones like moissy! You should pick a ring based on if YOU love it. No matter how stellar your ring is, there will be people that love it and people that hate it, big or small! I think its awesome and you should roll with it!
please note everyone: I’m not saying anything bad about moissy. I’m just saying that is something with women with smaller budgets and bigger stones might have. Moissy is beautiful. I feel like this needs to be explicitly stated every time someone mentions moissy in a diamond post recently.

@daisymae900: I definitely don’t think it’s small or that it looks small! It’s a beautiful, beautiful ring. I love how balanced and perfect it all looks together. The center stone and band work really well together, instead of one overwhelming the other. And I think it’s beautiful on your finger.

Doesn’t look small at all! It looks dainty and wearable.

I never look at someone’s ring and think ‘gah, that’s small’, but I do look at some rings and go ‘omg why is it that big??’. I think that your ring is very beautiful!

It’s the perfect size for your hand! It’s such a lovely ring!

I think the ring looks gorgeous on your hand! Don’t let anyone else’s opinion hinder your happiness, because at the end of the day you have that ring on your finger because there is someone that loves you deeply.

Tbh, no It looks like a good size though I’m not a fan of huge rocks anyways.

If you don’t like it and your FI doesn’t mind, I would change it. Comparison is the thief of joy, though… so keep that in mind. Someone will always have something bigger/better/shinier!
.75 would be too small for me, yes. It’s the perfect size for others, though!
I think it looks really pretty on your hand.
