I am going to have a traditional wedding, but white isn't a good color for my complexion. For my tight budget, I do a lot of research on google and found OuterInner.com. My wedding theme is royal blue& turquoise, so I picked up this one. How do you think about it?

would you try/did you try a color wedding gown? Share with me please~

I wouldn't, no. Off white or ivory, yes. I actually don't want a super white dress, but def no color.

You should add a poll. :)

Pretty! If I hadn't bought an ivory dress already without thinking of it, I definately would have tried on some colored dresses.

I'd wear a coloured wedding gown. I have no desire to ever don a white or off-white gown.

I think blush or pink is really pretty! Blue is very bold. But if that's what you're going for then do it. its your wedding and you deserve to feel beautiful in whatever you're wearing on your big day!!

Yes yes yes! I'm hoping to get either a blue dress or a purple dress.

I dont know why people think because one queen wore white TONS of years ago, that they must all wear white now. Or ivory or "off white" which basically look the same as white. I honestly cant even tell a difference between them.

I think that's a beautiful dress and I say go for it.  Personally it is only white or ivory for me, it's just how I always envisioned myself on my wedding day

Your dress is beautiful!  FI and his family is traditional and several members of my family are too, so if I had gone with a non-white dress, people would have complained.    I wouldn't have minded one, though.  I kinda wanted to get married in red!

I would love a colored wedding gown, but all the colored dresses seem to be prom, bridesmaid or m-o-b dresses, so in the end it was worth it to just go with a more evening-gown-styled bridal gown in white.

Here's my sherbet one. I think it's very bridal and not promsy and it went with my skin tone really well.

    @cabride12: Love!

I am potentially adding color to my ivory gown, but I wanted to look obviously "bridal" without sacrificing my own personal style so I went simple on the gown to have fun with accessorizing. :)

Wanted to add a fun ombre-esque wedding dress by Versace. Enjoy!

@jayjackson:  Blue is actually a more traditional colour for wedding dresses, it has just been overlooked whilst white is fashionable.

I voted yes, I would try one. That being blush pink.

Anything else is too prom dressy to me.

i'm not a fan of colored dresses, they look to "prom-ish" to me, but my opinion doesn't really matter and i think you should do what you want. i like colored sashes on white or ivory dresses and colored shoes though. white didn't work well with my complexion either so i went with an ivory over light gold dress.

I would try a coloured one for sure!

I know it's kind of considered to be OTT to tell guests what to wear but I think it looks really cool when a bride wears a coloured gown and the guests all wear white.

If I don't get married in my grandma's wedding dress I'll be looking for a blue one for sure.

My mother got married in a blue dress! If that is what your heart is set on, then i say go for it! Though personally, i would go for a lighter blush color, or a lighter blue :)

I always swore I would get married in a red wedding dress, but in the end it didnt fit with my vintage theme so I had a gold dress.

I can get behind light pink and any variation of white (ivory, champagne, I guess even beige) but I'm not fond of other colors for wedding dresses. Mainly because they don't look bridal to me and I think that detracts from the wedding as a whole.

I tried on a popular essence of australia lace gown.  It was ivory with a lavendar overlay, extremely purple.  I loved it and seriously considered it, but the only color option was purple, which had no place at my wedding.

@Peppasmum:  That's pretty much the same as me (although add in that my mum was very unhappy with the thought of me wearing a red dress). I was also a little put off by how many people were wearing them (silly as gold then became really popular!)

Blush or sherbet, yes.  My dress is ivory because it looks better on me than white. Anything else, no. It looks to "prom dress" to me.

@jayjackson:  Just to make you feel more confident in your colour choice (this is for everyone....even the people who believe in just white) ,

The reason why brides wear white today for their wedding has nothing top do with purity  or the sorts (actually fyi BLUE represents purity traditionally).

The reason why brides today wear white is because Queen Victoria wore a white lace dress on her wedding day in 1840. It was considered a BOLD move then, but she obviously started a trend that people now think is tradition (a 170 year old tradition, not very old considering).

Before Queen Victoria's white, women just simply wore their best dress their money could afford (Sunday best for the poor and very rich materials for rich) in any colour.

In some european cultures BLACk is worn.

So go on with your "bold: self and wear whatever colour you want!

I bought an ivory dress but I was considering a colored gown in purple. I also tried a silver dress but the ivory I loved the most. The ivory of my dress is actually more of a champagne color than white which worked well for my skin tone.
