I bought my BMs initial necklaces as part of their gift. I wasn’t expecting them to wear them on our wedding day, but it could be worn as an ‘everyday necklace’.
I’m disappointed in the quality of the necklaces that I bought for my BMs. Not sure what I should do.
I decided to buy through an Etsy seller rather than a larger company because I like to support small businesses and I figured the product would be comparable. I have 9 BMs so I don’t think the Etsy seller would allow me to return them all plus I would feel AWFUL about rejecting someone’s handmade jewelry.
The chains on the Etsy necklaces had very large links and were a very yellow gold, the initials are HUGE and don’t fall nicely on the neck, and the necklaces in general were not nearly as fine and delicate as I was hoping for.
I don’t think my BMs will ever wear them because I don’t even like them.
Should I try to sell them online (or at least post them online to see if they sell because I spent a lot of money on these) and buy necklaces elsewhere? Or would you love & wear this necklace if you received it as a gift?
The first photos are the necklace sold from the larger company, but it was what I was hoping my BMs’ necklaces would look like.
WHAT I RECEIVED:

@Dareebs: Oh, I voted yes before I saw the after pictures. I love the first pictures you posted. Unfortunately the ones you receive don’t look anything like them! I’m so sorry =(

The inspiration necklace is definitely cuter, but I would wear the etsy one anyway.

@Brideonabudgetlauren: What do you think of them?

@Dareebs: have you got a picture of what they look like on?

Are the chains gold and the letters silver? That would bug me so much… I’d wear it if it was a gift but I’d probably try and change the chain to match the letter or something lol.

@Holly77: No, but I can take one tonight & post it! It is difficult to keep the initial to the side because it is so large; gravity pulls it to the center and they don’t fall flat against the neck.

I too, voted yes before looking at the actual ones you got..
I would totally return them.. IMO they look cheap..and also are they two different tone?? gold and silver?

i don’t like letter jewlery or anything for that matter. And yeah the 1st pic is nothing like yours. I’d ask for a refund. How did you pay? Negative review all the way too.

I don’t like “initial” or monogrammed stuff anyway so I’d say no.
If you try to sell them online, you will probably not get what you paid for them.

@HappilyEverAfter54: Yes, they are lol. It looked nice in pictures, but in person, I’m not a fan of the mixed metals either. If I buy them elsewhere, I am going to buy gold chains with gold initials.

Could you possibly turn them into bracelets, or key charms? Are you diy savvy? I would reattach the letters to the center of the necklace and add a pearl charm to the bottom of the letter, but it still may look too bulky though. 🙁

@Dareebs: Have you tried to return them??? I’d try that first. Business is business, why keep something that you don’t like to protect hurting a complete stranger’s feelings? If you don’t like what you purchased and she has a return policy I’d return them.

Did you send that inspiration pic to the etsy seller? If so I would ask for my money back…or at least that they fix the necklaces to look more like the image.
