I just moseyed on over to FB to check out my news feed and was greeted by this gem…
Obviously a virus but the user (my step cousin) more than likely had to have clicked on the link to in order for it to take over her page. This status update is now seen by 478 of my cousins nearest and dearest. Pah-retty embarassing!

@UpstateCait: Not true. I had that happen without clicking on anything.
(But always a bit funny)

@SFreeman2187: Oh, really? I always thought people just claimed they didn’t click on anything to avoid the humiliation. Regardless, still embarassing and everyone will probably think she clicked on it.

Hopefully everyone understands that its just a virus, btw, those hacker do make normal links so she could have clicked on something pretty innocent and still gotten that virus.

Yeah, one of my exes from high school (who’s married, by the by) clicked on something that spammed his entire friends list with ads for a racy dating site. Whoops.
Then again, I know a lot of people who’ve just plain been hacked too. When DH logged into his Facebook last night he got a message alerting him that someone had recently logged into his FB from a different location…in Japan!

I had one of those viruses ( mine was some sort of IPad thing though ). I am religious about not clicking on weird things but they apparently just hacked my account and had to change all of my passwords. As soon as I see them pop up on other peoples news feeds I report them as spam.

This happens to a lot of my friends on fb… see at least 4 users a day with these links.

Yea, you definitely don’t have to click on it to get it.
I saw a bunch of nonprofit organizations that I follow get similar ones recently. You think that was embarrassing?! I’m sure the more conservative/new to Facebook folks didn’t even understand it was a virus and just thought they were posting inappropriate material.
