For cocktail hour and dinner music we’re going to use kinda jazzy stuff. So far we’ve got songs by Adele, Michael Buble, Harry Connick Jr, Natalie Cole, John Legend, Jack Johnson, Patty Griffin, Norah Jones, Sinatra, Corrine Bailey Rae, A Fine Frenzy, and Etta James.

Some of these are traditional, but some of the newer artists make the playlist more unique.

Dinner music–we went with upbeat jazz. I specifically said “along the lines of frank sinatra”, but nothing too slow. Just nice.

I would go to DJ sites in which they list the most popular songs…for cocktail hour/dinner we are doing jazzy tunes like most people-Michael Buble, Sinatra, Harry Connick Jr., etc.  For slow songs, look at first dance lists and perhaps you can find some good slow songs.
