woah that sounds and looks awesome. I'm jealous...I wanna go!!!
Did you go on any excursions while you were there? Scuba diving, snorkeling, or trip to the ruins? We were looking at Secrest Maroma Beach and trying to decide between that and Cozumel (Wyndham Aura).
That looks soooo amazing. I need a vacation SO bad... this is tempting.
FYI- Sorry in the heading of post it says Sandals, but in my post it says Secrets- it is not Sandals it is the Secrets Maroma.
Arizonabride- We did two excursions- swim with the dolphins and the xplor adventure. I would not do the same dolphin program I did because I was gone for 13 hours which was ridiculous, the lady that booked my excursion told me it was only going to be an 7 hour excursion from the time I got picked up at the resort to the time I got dropped off, well 7 hours + another 6 hours, complete nightmare. Yes it was cool to swim with the dolphins which I had a private class with a trainer and two dolphins all by myself and also got to swim with a manatee which was cool but too long of a day and there is a closer dolphin company you can go to that is 20 min. from secrets. The one I went to was 45 min. by car and then another 45 min ferry ride to get to the island.
We also did the Xplor adventure that was really cool, you go on 14 zip lines and two go through the water and then you drive ATV through the jungle.
Next time we go back though we might do one excursion but the rest of the time we will relax on the beach and at the pool, we felt like we barely got to do that.
Thanks, Dereksbride! It sounds like you went to the dolphin experience at Chankanaab Nat'l Park on Cozumel, which we are planning on doing if we stay on Cozumel. I can see how it would be way too long a day to go from Secrets. Good to know the ziplines go through water. I was wondering about getting too hot. Glad to hear Secrets lives up to the hype.
My fiancee and I are planning to go to the MAroma/Riviera Maya/Playa del Carmen area but we aren't sure - when you were at SEcrets Maroma did you go to Playa del Carmen? Did you need a car? Not to sound weird but it's funny we have the same dress and honeymoon locations!
Wow, that looks so beautiful! I was actually looking at this place for our honeymoon, but his parents came through with a time share in Hawaii.
Round the clock room service sounds great! Did you guys do a couples massage?
ooh! We actually went to the resort sort of next door: Maroma Resort and Spa and I lovvvvvved the beaches! This is truly such an amazing honeymoon location and you MUST do some of the day trips. I would definitely snorkle through the Cenotes (underwater caves), and travel to the Mayan Ruins. We went to Tulum, and that seemed to be a good day trip. We actually rented a Jeep for the day.
@CarylinVA, you don't necessarily need a car, because taxis will take you to and from Playa Del Carmen.
Great photos! It brings me back to our honeymoon (and makes me WANT to go back!!!)

We chose to go to Secrets Maroma Beach Resort in the Riveria Maya and wow I am glad we did. This place is so beautiful and they are known for the #1 because in the Riveria Maya and they are right.
The people here are so friendly and not once were we told "No sorry not possible" it didn't matter what you asked for.
They had 24 hour room service, all inclusive and great food, great entertainment, great drinks and it is a couples only resort- what more could you ask for.
We got lucky with the weather even though it was hurricane season but of course it rained the last day we were there.
We met so many awesome couples that we can't wait to go back.
We had a swim-out suite in the Preferred Club and it was so awesome, you literally could swim out from your porch in to a lazy river.
