Weddingbee boards

Got married on August 1st.  Haven't posted much on here but stalk it religiously and relied heavily on the info and advice on this site.  I don't know what I would have done without it!!!  THANK YOU!

 We just returned from our honeymoon and can't contain my excitement.  Everything went beautifully and we had the time of our lives.  Our photographer posted one little sneak peak from our "day after" session.  What a tease!!!  I will post more when I get them... :)

oracle - here's my initial thoughts:

Photos:  my fiance was adamant that we not see each other before the ceremony for a first look and photos.  unfortunately, things were so rushed afterward that I fear we may have missed a lot of important photos with the wedding party and family and friends.  Thankfully, we did a "day after" session very earlier the next morning to make up for any lost shots of me and my DH.  So - I'd say if your fiance is willing to do a first look and pre-wedding photos and there isn't a big gap in time between ceremony and reception - DO IT!   And if you can do a 'day after' session, DO IT!  even if it hurts to get up in the morning.  LOL.  We were so much more relaxed and found some great spots for pix.

DOC:  worth EVERY penny!  our site coordinator ended up being totally worthless and the DOC and her assistance literally did 99% of the work and made sure everything ran on time and all my details (which were numerous - my wedding planner/DOC said she'd never seen so many) were as I imagined them.  I can't say enough good things.

GETTING READY:  I did not plan enough time and was very rushed and got somewhat flustered before the ceremony.

MAKE-UP:  Do a trial run BEFORE the big day whether you're are doing your own make-up or hiring an MUA.  The gal that has been doing my hair for the past 7 years (and who has become a friend) came to our destination wedding and did my hair and MU.  We had practiced on the hair but never managed to find the time to do a trial makeup run.  I regret it.  I really didn't care for how the eyeshadow and false eyelashes turned out.  And since I was rushed (see above), I didn't have a spare moment to fix it.  :(  Oh well, thankfully we had a day after session.

Hmmm.  I will add more as I think of them.  I hope some of these thoughts are helpful! :)

Thank you all so much!   It was an amazing day and I feel blessed for it.  I will post more pix from our phototog as soon as I get them.  She's incredible.
