I did wrap around labels for my wedding in June and had no problem with the post office. I can't find a picture of our labels (boo). I had 5x5" square invitations and I did my wrap vertically on the left hand side of the envelope. The only extra charge I got was for the size of my envelope (i.e square and my envelope was over 5"). My future sister in-law did a horizontal wrap similar to the one on martha stewart's site and she had no problems.
P.S When I cut and pasted your link I didn't highlight the "s" after the 9 and the site it took me to was not at all about invitation labels
LOL..I about spit out my drink
HAHAHAHAHA omg.... I just went to that other link. Oops. I have a Mac and frustratingly can't use the "link" link in the toolbar, and for some reason it didn't automatically create a hyperlink when I pasted it. That is......... both hilarious and horrifying. I wonder how Martha would feel (WWMD?). ![]()
Um... wow. :::shakes self off:::
Anyway, thanks for the feedback!!
We did the wraparound labels and they worked just fine. A few invitations came back to us because we put the wrong address on and such and it gave me a chance to see what they look like after going through the mail. The label was a bit torn on the back, but that was really the only issue, we didn't even have our return address on that part, so it was really a non-issue for us. I really like the added touch it gives to the envelopes, so I say go for it!
Ok, out of morbid curiosity I had to go to the other link and WOW what would Martha do! :)
I had two that went through the sorting machine and got mailed to us instead of the recipient, which was a little annoying but easily fixed.
Hahah! I had to go to the other link too. Thank goodness I'm at home and not at work! :0) I received an invite the other day with the wraparound label and it seemed fine! I like how those look and may do them myself too :0)
To second what bluejaywalking said, my Christmas cards had envelopes with a design that was similar to the wraparound, with our return address on the back. One of the maybe 50 cards came back to me. I'd say you'll be fine! You're bound to get maybe one or two back.
I did wrap around labels, and none have been returned to me.
I really like how they came out.
Awesome - thanks, everyone! I'm taking a break from bone-folding madness right now, so I'm glad to hear that it'll be fine. As expected, the PO said it would be fine (with requisite sigh and lack of eye contact). The woman seemed to *really* not want it to work, but she went and asked a supervisor, and he said it was cool.
We have cream-colored recycled/linen-ish envelopes and brown kraft labels, and I really love how it's turning out! It'll be on my blog soon.
Love that you sent one to the Schwarz... does he reply like the White House does??
WHOA! Totally not expecting that when I removed the s... ha ha ah ah.

I've been planning for a while to make these for our invitation envelopes: http://tinyurl.com/5dm39s.
My mom is telling me to go to the post office and ask them if it'll be ok. I will, but I'm also wondering (since different P.O.s have different interpretations of postal regulations) if anyone who's used these has had trouble with the post office. Have they made you put your return address in the upper left corner or on the envelope flap? Did they charge you extra? I'm sure it'll be fine, but I'm curious what you guys have experienced.
