Hi hive! I’ve fallen out of the writing habit for a long time but I’ve recently come up with an idea that I really want to try my hand at. The premise is that it’s a murder mystery romance–think Criminal Minds but . The problem is, I’m already stuck at naming my main characters, which is horribly embarassing, but to be honest I was never good at finding the ‘right’ name for original characters (hence, fanfiction!). So, I thought I would put it out to you fellow Bees and see what you think!
The male main character, who is in his early thirties and works in a high-level position at a medical company (I’m still figure these details out) is named Sebastian Roth. Personality-wise, he’s generally a bit goofy and responds emotionally to most things, but due to a few different reasons (recently moving into a high-ranking position after a secret personal trauma) he’s become an insomniac and has trouble functioning.
My problem is, I can’t, for the life of me, come up with a name for my female lead, who is actually the main character. She’s a 28 year old forensic pathologist just beginning her fellowship with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. She’s worked extremely hard to get where she is, and is overwhelminging rational, logical, and to-the-point. She has an incurable drive to figure things out, and this is part of what lead her to her career; the other is a personal agenda, as a close family member vanished, most likely murdered, when she was young. So she tries her best to help the dead speak for themselves.
So! I’m open and excited to hear suggestions for her name (first, last, or both!). I keep trying to find a female name that sounds strong but also feminine, and that sounds good with Sebastian. I’ve been trawling through baby name databases for the last few days, but nothing has really stuck with me yet, so any help you can provide me would be well appreciated! 🙂
