Today I emailed my contact at the linen rental company to let them know that we may be changing the linens that we want to rent and also to see if they would price match with our venue (venue charges $6 for 90″ rounds, rental company 10.50, venue’s cheaper but rental company has nicer linens). I email a copy of my contract and a copy of the venue’s rental prices. I get this reply:
“Unfortunately, Jenni no longer works for (company named removed). However, we are still able to assist you with linen rentals with a little bit of some catch up conversations. I did some research into this and will need to speak with you in more detail to make sense of this. Prior to Jenni leaving we were not informed about this, so I do apologize for the inconvenience. ….. I think at this time it would be best to set aside some time to fill me in on what you and Jenni discussed. I must be honest though, I do have a wedding booked already for that weekend-but that doesn’t mean I won’t be able to work something out for you.”
WTH!!! I booked my linen package almost a year ago but you have no record and there’s a possibility that I may be bumped?!?! (Or at least that’s what it feels like that last sentence is saying to me)
I know I’m not the first person something like this has happened to, but it seems like a lot of people who quit in the wedding industry must be pissed off because no one ever forwards relevant information to management.
Ugh, I couldn’t even email her back because I was so upset and would more than likely say (type) something that I would regret. At this point, maybe I will just go with the venue’s linens and save myself the hassle and the worry that I could be bumped.
