Idiots.  Though, good to be aware so if someone tries to knock you out just go down and pretend like you’re out cold!

Not heard of this, but for a while in UK there was some stupid trend called ‘happy-slapping’ where you sneak up on people and smack them. That was absolutely ridiculous.

Holy shit that’s terrifying… “for the fun of it”

I REALLY hope that this is something that the news is making into a bigger thing than it really is. Like the summer of the shark or something…

While this is definitely terrible, people have been doing things like this since the beginning of humanity.  Teenagers today aren’t any worse than teenagers 50 years ago. Definitely something to be aware of, but I wouldn’t worry too much about it in a “what is happeneding to the world?!?” type of way.

@MrsNewDay:  I don’t remember hearing or reading about that. But you’re absolutely right, that trend is terrifying! I doubt those kids trying to knock people out with one punch even thought that they would end up killing people. But honestly, I doubt they care all that much.

@ZebraPrintMe:  I heard about that. I also heard they were targeting the elderly too…which really pisses me off.

@MrsNewDay:  Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. Any kid/teen that finds this entertaining or worth their time is depraved. Say what you want about video games, the media, movies etc I know that I NEVER would have considered such an act of “entertainment” acceptable. But then again my parents actually parented me so there’s always that.

Not cool. I don’t remember doing anything like this when I was a teen.

The worst we did was knockout pole lights or steal street signs.

I could not bring myself to watch the video… the write up was more than enough (it said the man in the video was killed)

I don’t get it… I’m beginning to believe we are indeed moving towards the age of the Clockwork Orange.

@MrsNewDay:  I am completely sickened by this.  And all the highschool/college kids who are interviewed act like it’s just normal and there’s nothing wrong with it!  What is wrong with people?????

Because children these days are no longer taught respect, manners, or responsibility.

When I was a kid (I’m 29 now), there was some kind of trend where you grabbed the back of someone’s neck and squeezed it until they passed out. These weird things have been around forever!
