I used it last year and lost 30 pounds. Gained 20 back the last half of the year by eating out pretty much every meal like a dumb@$$, but it works! I started back on it on the 1st, so here's hoping! I make myself weigh every week, even when I know it's going to be bad news.
What kind of scale do you use, KMSull? Guess I need to get one of those, too :)
I use WW online but I personally like doing these things myself - it works if you can do it without the social guidance and support; however, you can use the WW boards for that also!
I bought a really good and accurate scale from walmart for $49 and I love it - it also gives me a number to the tenth decimal place and so you can see smaller gains and losses which I like!
I don't remember what brand it is but if you PM me I will go check for you!
Good luck with whichever method you choose!
LOL I use a 12 dollar scale from Wal-mart! I'd definitely would recommend investing in a better one... probably the biggest mistake I made the whole time. Get one that shows even tiny loses, because sometimes that is the one thing that would keep me going when I went to meetings in high school.
I just joined the online program.. I did the meetings a few yrs ago. The online program seems to be fine! I like that it is easier to look up your food there rather than using the slider that they give you when you attend meetings. It's also cheaper! Let us know if you decide to join!
Thanks for the advice, all! I really think I am going to join. I should add for everyone that right now there is no registration fee if you sign up for the 3 months package!
I agree KM - that .2 lbs weight loss can prevent you from gorging on a whole bag of potato chips and cause you to work harder to see a better loss next week!
Also Robin - weigh yourself at the same time of day on the same day every week. I do it first thing monday mornings after I go to the bathroom - it is the most accurate to weigh-in in the mornings because you don't have to account for the food you have eaten that day. I also weigh-in naked so that I know my ACTUAL weight.
These are things you can't do at weight watchers meetings and so they tell you to wear the same clothes every week and eat the same things before you go to the meetings to have an accurate weigh-in which is obviously not that realistic!
Me too! Should we actually start a WW thread and check in once a week? is there one already?
Nlmiele may have already started one? I know she started a thread about WW earlier!
Just joined online! Will have to be good about using it. I think I am going to track my eating in notebook since I don't use a computer at work. I also hope to make a meal plan for the week and stick to it!
Awww I love this! I so badly need support with this!
Me too! I have tried online (free) trackers in the past, but failed miserably. Hopefully the fact that I am PAYING for this will motivate me! Mr. Bananas is luckily very supportive :)
Do any of you have an iPhone? The mobile app used to suck but they just released an actual iPhone app and it is AWESOME. I highly recommend it! I lost some weight last summer with WW but gained it back so I'm starting again now to be looking hot before the wedding. I think the secret is to find your favorite low-points snack and stock it immediately. I'm a big fan of kettle corn and some kinds are zero points!
so i know this thread was started a while ago, but how is the progress!?

Does anyone have experience with this? I am just at the border of what WW considers "overweight" but to look at me you can tell that I need to change my diet and get healthy. If I was very muscley, my weight would be healthy, but I'm not, so...
I am wondering if you all have used the online WW and to what effect? I am just not sure that I have to ability to make myself follow the plan without the weekly meetings that "make" me check in, etc.
