When you say he grew a beard and a mullet for the wedding, do you mean he did that on purpose just to look like that for the wedding?
Hahaha, that sucks. I would of complained to my FI. I would of complained to my family and friends. But I'd never insist that he cut it. His appearance has no reflection on me, so, whatev.
I have several groomsmen with a different sense of style, and I am not asking them to change it for my wedding. But I do have a problem with someone doing it on purpose, as it seems like it was in this case.
That's the impression I got from my friend who sent me the pic (I wasn't at the wedding) - that he grew it on purpose. That's not what he normally looks like. I wouldn't put it past the guy. Then again, the groom is the lead singer in a rock band, so I'm sure he probably didn't have an issue with it.
Well, if I knew he was like that, I wouldn't be surprised, either. It's his friend, that's cool.
I'd be mortified if he asked my bridesmaids to a) cut their hair b) lose weight c) wear more makeup d) wear nice heels
So I'd never do it to him by asking his groomsmen to nice up, just for me.
Oh and my dad rocked a mullet to our wedding. It is what it is and you can't make people fit to your own standards. Party on =]
Okay, well if he did it on purpose, then I have to admit I would be pretty annoyed and pissed. If it was just something he decided to do for himself, I wouldn't really care.

A good friend of mine from high school (a guy) was a groomsman in another good friend's wedding. He send me this picture of our third friend from high school (his name is James), who apparently grew a beard & mullet for the wedding - he was a groomsman too. What would you have done if you had been the bride? Or the bridesmaid who was paired with him? Since I know the guy, I think it's kind of funny - he's always been like that - but if I didn't know him well, I would probably not have been as amused. Pic from the tux shop below. Oh, and keep in mind that we're all 30 now - this is not a teenager, despite the appearance!
