So I’m still going through venue options for my wedding next year, and I suppose my issue is that I never had a “dream” or a vision… I just know I want it to be a joyful event and I want my family, and my FH’s family, there with us.
I’m looking at yacht weddingsdinner cruises in Toronto.. Does anyone have experience with this or suggestions? My FH and I are students, so our budget is limited, and we’d rather spend more money on a honeymoon than the wedding itself.
I know Yankee Lady does Sunday brunch that is more affordable for us. However the other yacht lines don’t seem to have their pricing online.. Does anyone know what other companies might have what I’m looking for?
Aside from yachts or cruises, any suggestions for incredibly affordable, but still sweet, reception venues?

I’m a Toronto Bee too! 🙂 It’s a mission and a half to get married in the city, sooo expensive, I’m a student too so I understand! Some of the more affordable venues we looked at were De La Salle College, around $1400 to rent the entire house, really pretty and more of a ‘rustic’ feel, and you would just have to bring in your own caterer and can suppy your own alcohol….huge savings.
If your willing to go outside of the city we ended up booking our venue at The Club at Bond Head. Which is a GORGEOUS golf course about an hour north of the downtown core. To give you an idea of pricing we are $5000 for 50 people, which includes ceremony on site, cocktail hour and open bar. By far the nicest venue within our budget after literally months of searching!
If you need help with anything else feel free to message me! We’re pretty far into the wedding planning so I may be offer to offer other tips and tricks 🙂
Best of luck with the planning, and try to remember it’s not about how much you spend, its about marrying the love of your life!
