Ok, I can't get these shoes out of my mind. Louis Vuitton called and they have located them in my size. I am going later today to try them on. I would never spend this type of money on shoes, but I just can't find anything similar. Also,  I know I would wear them again. But what would you do if you were me? Yes, we can afford it (not go in debt for them) but I mean that is a lot of money to spend on shoes! Plus, they cost more than my dress! Am I crazy?????

IMO, they are not that cute for that price.

What does your dress look like and what color would you get them in?

If you love them and can afford them, go for it! I honestly can't see paying that much money for a pair of shoes but if they're your dream shoes than do it.

I uploaded to pics of my dress. I am changing into a short dress for the reception. The color I have been looking at is a dark gray color. What to do????

I just don't think I could do it. I don't know how those bows would look peeking out from underneath your dress.

But if those are your feet in them, they look cute, just not for your wedding (IMO).

I don't think you're crazy for wanting to spend that much on shoes. They are really nice shoes, though I am not 100% sure about them with your dress. But that's a personal decision and if you love it, go for it.

I say sure! go for it, especially for the wedding.  If you can afford it and really love it, I'd say it was a good splurge regardless!  I love my LV handbag splurges! =D

Honestly not trying to be a butthead but they personally for me are not that cute to pay that much for them. What does your shorter dress look like? Does it match?

If you love them get them, but either way $850 for shoes in my eyes is pretty expensive.

So my other dress looks very similar to this. It is pretty custom and still at the tailors. The other reason I like those shoes is the fact the heel is not stiletto. I love stilettos, but we are having a tent wedding and I dread the thought of my shoes digging in the ground!Ya'll am I really going to spend 0 on a pair of shoes? : wedding shoes Don9152 Bridal Market 2010 - Watters : wedding bridal market 2010 Don9152 _DON9152

If you love the shoes and they are in your budget, go for it!  While I wouldn't spend that much on shoes, my take is that if you are responsible and saving for retirement, etc, and still have money left over, that money is to be spent! You can't take it with you.

Ok, I LOVE those shoes, but do not think they go with your dress. I would wear them a ton after the wedding though, so that would make it more worth it to me. I think you could find spectacular shoes that fit your dress better, for that price or less!

Ok so if ya'll don't think they go with the dress, what other option do I have but stilettos? And the wedding is in the middle of winter.

If you love stilettos then I would go with those and just wear the little clear plastic covers that prevent the heel from sticking in the ground. One of the wedding shops I went to sold those and the girl there got married outside last year and swears by them. In my opinion those shoes don't quite go with your dress and $850 is a lot to spend on one pair of shoes. But that's just my opinion and it's your wedding therefore your opinion is the only one that matters! :)

I don't love the shoes, but if you do, then go for it!

There are other options than stilettos, though. Many shoe manufacturers make pumps with a chunky heel (given they aren't going to be identical to that, try Cole Haan or Via Spiga) or you could always get a wedge. Get what makes you happy!

ETA: These by Lillybee are somewhat similar (stacked heel, bow) and are much more affordable: http://www.simplysoles.com/product/1338

I'm going to be blunt, the heel looks like grey legos. I don't think they are that cute at all. And no one is going to be looking at your shoes all night. That's just me. Do the 5-5-5 system.

How will this purchase make you feel 5 minutes from now? 5 months from now? 5 years from now?

But hey! If you want them go for them! None of us know your money situation so if $850 on shoes is normal to you then go for it.

THANK YOU!  I just told my FI about a bride wanting to pay $850 on a pair of shoes, and now he thinks the $118 I spent on mine doesn't sounds so bad!

If you can afford them and absolutely love them, then go ahead and get them.  :)

If you love them why not. I wish I bought my original $1200 shoes, Im on pair 7 now and have easily spent the $1200 over the 7 pairs! I love my current shoes but not like I did the original shoes I wanted.

If you love the shoes it doesnt really matter what anyone else thinks of them. Are you going to be happy wearing them? If the answer is yes & you have the money to buy them go for it!

Buy the shoes as an investment--meaning, you should be able to figure out if you'll wear them again. I'm a shoe girl so I would totally go for it if I thought I'd wear them again!

BUT (and I'm totally guilty of this), if they're mean to your feet, they're not worth it, no matter how cute they are!

They look super cute on Dita Von Teese but I don't know about them as wedding shoes, with that dress. I don't think it's a great splurge. Do you want to be walking around in the mud with snakeskin that cost more than your dress? Your shoes will be effed up by the end of the night. I say, find something totally different because nothing else can compare, and move on! I had my heart set on $1400 Louboutins but found some $187 Badgley Mischkas that I love even more and they ended up feeling like a steal!

Also, that white/gray version of the shoe is not attractive and I don't think will look good with other clothes after the wedding. The black on Dita or the ones you're wearing that are dark with the light bow are much prettier. I think the white is an attempt to get something that is most definitely not meant to be a bridal shoe to look like a bridal shoe. If you're going to splurge, get the dark color and add a sash or statement necklace in that color too.

ALSO - they look horribly uncomfortable. They are like bondage on the feet. This is partially why they're so cute, but I think they look like "sit and look pretty" shoes.  Can you imagine wearing them all night? If not, is the money worth it?

Ok, this is coming from someone who spent $300 on shoes with a very tiny wedding budget.

Unless they are the most comfortable shoes in the world, you will almost certainly change out of them at the reception. I spent $300 on a pair of Hey Lady shoes, which are touted as super comfy. They ARE very comfy.... for an hour or so. After that, they're just as painful on the balls of the feet as all heels.

IF you plan to buy them, I would wear them to the reception only if you want them to show with your short dress. It would be very sad to pay that much and than change out of them when you're wearing the dress that you can actually see them in!

Ok, so I think ya'll may be talking me out of the shoes. But i did have one thought. Some people spend way more than $850 on a wedding dress that they are going to wear only once! At least these I could wear a lot (and I know I would wear them prewedding too!)

So hear are some alternative shoe options that I am now thinking about. But unfortunately these all have the stiletto heals:

You are totally trying to talk yourself into getting those shoes.  I think you really just want them and are using the wedding as an excuse to get them.  I make up reasons to buy shoes all the time (as if I couldn't have worn the black pumps I have to the wedding I went to last weekend... I had to use the wedding as an exuse to buy new shoes to go with the dress I was wearing)--

I think you should keep looking for a chunky heel shoe that will look good with your dresses,  and only buy the $850 shoes if you would have bought them to wear anyways (meaning without the wedding as a motivator).

You should try those sole mates though, some of the girls on weddingbee swear by them.

If you are doing a tent wedding, you might be better off with a wedge heel.  Saw these Taryn Rose on DSW's site.  $99

Those shoes are fabulous.  BUT - do not go with your dress IMO.  Even the non gray ones.  If you really want the shoes, go for it but I would get something else for the wedding.

Maybe they need to be satin or patent or something.  The snake skin is not a fit for me with a wedding dress.

I also shudder to think of wearing $850 shoes in grass (even though they are not stiletto).

But I'm really no help because I can't quickly find a better idea.

I think if the chunky heel is your main goal, you must be looking in the wrong places, because the chunky heel is EVERYWHERE right now.

Here are some options I found that I think might fit the style you seem to like.

    Ya'll am I really going to spend $850 on a pair of shoes? : wedding shoes 19166560 066 B?$redesign OpenLarger$

    $188 at Anthro

    Ya'll am I really going to spend $850 on a pair of shoes? : wedding shoes 19020023 001 B?$redesign OpenLarger$

$188 at Anthropologie in black and turquoise, $89.95 at Endless.com in Grey, Yellow, and Navy

    Ya'll am I really going to spend $850 on a pair of shoes? : wedding shoes 18992511 041 B?$redesign OpenLarger$

    $158 at Anthro

And that's really just the tip of the iceberg. I know you want the heels now, but I can promise (from experience) that you will buy them, love them for a little while, and then start to wonder after a few days if your money could have been better spent elsewhere.

I don't blame you for wanting pretty shoes, but I think that $800 is a lot of money for any shoes, especially a pair that has a chunky heel that goes in and out of style so quickly.

Not to keep swooning about Anthropologie, but the shape of these also remind of the LVs. Zoom in on the shot with the model - the way the heel is stacked under the foot is exactly like the LV! Not the right color but still so cute!

@kahbooom: i (like your FH) lean towards getting them. they're what you want, right? who cares if it's not others' style? you've been swooning and coveting and wanting them enough to have LV track 'em down. if you're a shoe girl (like I am) then you'll appreciate the splurge. i'm supre you'll feature them in your pictures and everything too (you know, with like the rings and garter around/on them). so it'll be fun!
