Our work gift exchange is tomorrow, and I am just wondering which of these items you’d rather receive. it’s a yankee gift exchange where people steal and switch gifts, so i’m wondering which of these items would have the most appeal.

@kerensa: We call that Dirty Santa, lol.
I’d rather have the coffee, because I can’t have sweets. Are any of your coworkers diabetic?

@EffieTrinket: I’m sure some of them are, but from the way cookie trays and candy disappear around the office, most people can have sweets. That’s a good point though!

#1 choice would be the gift card. Ice cream? Yum! And I love buying local.
#2 choice would be the coffee and thermos!

Lol, they are ALL Food, so I am thinking you cannot really go wrong !!

I’d rather have the thermos and coffee because I’m a coffee person!

They all sound good, but my first pick is the coffee. But I’d like any of the ones listed.

We call that White Elephant, no idea where the name comes from, but I guess we couldn’t call it Yankee:)

Ice cream is awesome, but I don’t think I would go to an ice cream shop in the winter.

@Aqualov: LOL I’m in the midwest but we still call it that!

@AB Bride: Hmm I almost like ice cream best in winter, but this is a good point!

@Aqualov: Haha! I’m from the Capital of the Confederacy so we call it Yankee ’cause your stealing from someone else. I know, I know, the war is over.
We call it White Elephant when everyone brings the absolute worst, tackiest gift you can find (even from your attic) but then you can also steal gifts there too. My favorite one I ever got was a fake lighted TV looking thing that rolls the same scene over and over. It is extremely cheesy BUT it’s so old it shows the NY city skyline with the twin towers still on it. It’s actually quite meaningful to me.

Can’t go wrong with any of them, but I think coffee is a pretty common gift to give so other people might be giving that as well. I vote maple syrup because it’s different. Ice cream isn’t really wintery but I loooove me some ice cream. All gifts are appropriate and yummy!

I picked ice cream! I live in Canada where it’s currently freezing cold, and I would still eat icecream. Just not outside 😉
