So a long time ago (when I asked my dear husband to let me double my initial wedding budget) we made a deal that when the wedding was done the first big thing we'd purchase would be his dream tv. Well, the day finally came and we decided to head to best buy to buy it.

On our way though I suggested that we stop at Giant Eagle to buy best buy gift cards for the purchase because we get .20 fuelperks on every $50 spent. Long story short we now have $10.40 off per gallon lol. Which is almost 3 full tanks of gas-- FREE!

DH gets his lovely (massive and slightly ridiculous lol) tv, we save probably $120 in gas!

Anyone else love working the system? :)

*High Five* That is amazing. We're total bargain-hunters as well - it's so rewarding. You almost feel like you got away with something. haha.

I was just thinking about fuelperks when I was reading the gas price thread. I'll only grocery shop at Giant Eagle strictly because of the fuelperks. I think here it's only .10/$50 spent, but as much as we buy groceries it adds up. I think we're up to $1.10 off right now. We're gonna fill up before starting our Easter road trip.

@littlemissmango: a lot of big grocery stores do a rewards program where for every $50 you spend at the store you get .10 or .20 cents off per gallon at their attached gas station. It is the reason I shop at Giant Eagle as well because they do .20 here and there is a GE with a gas station really close to my house. Because of this a lot of people buy gift cards there to up their fuel perks. They have a whole wall of gift cards to basically EVERYWHERE. We always buy gift cards there for gifts but this is the first time I've ever bought them for something we'd buy ourselves. For big purchases it is totally worth it!

Not sure about locations, but any bees who are near 'Loaf 'n' Jug' stores should ask about their discount cards. They're free, they just hand them out randomly, and it saves you $.05/gallon every time you use their pumps. BUT, their software is out of whack lately and you get $.10 off/gallon! Woot! *And they know this, so I'm not cheating, the clerk told me that the chain is well aware and that we should enjoy it while it lasts :-)*

Ohh okay that makes sense, and it's a regional thing, then. I don't think I've heard of anything similar around here. Dangit!! Nice job sticking it to the man, though, Corgs.
