Hello Bees! Just a little celebratory post on some big strides made this week! This is what we covered both wedding related & non wedding:
- Invitations printed
- Selected & ordered tables, chairs & linens
- Rehearsal dinner booked, menu & beer/wine selections all set
- Airfare purchased for honeymoon
- Got a new car
- Bought a house! We closed yesterday
Now we’re relaxing at home watching Dallas Buyers Club before packing starts tomorrow for the big move to our new home.
What strides are you guys celebrating this week?

@vess5: Wow what a week!! I had my first dress fitting today – scary! I NEED to go the gym and on a diet!! EEK.
Also in the UK its tradition to invite extra people to the evening like work friends or friends who arent close enough to come to the day plus we usually only have about 60-80 guests during the day! So we had our evening invites printed this week!
How exciting for us April brides!!

@Mrs_Lewis2b: lol – the diet! Me too, I plan to really hunker down on that in March. I’m sure you looked beautiful though, we are our own worst critics 🙂
Interesting about the evening invites, I never knew about that custom. So when you refer to the “day” and the “evening” are you referring to the ceremony and the dinner/party?
Congrats on the fitting & the invites – those are two things that really signal you are in the home stretch and make it feel “real”! These are exciting days!

@vess5: I am definatley my own worst enemy with my appearance!
Well we would have a set amount of guests to the ceremony and “wedding breakfast” as we call it and then when the party starts that when the “evening guests” would arrive. It’s so funny how things are so different!
I know I can’t believe the weeks are in single figures now! I feel like it’s been a life time waiting. We deserve this day haha!

Congrats on getting so much done! I love that feeling! RSVPs are rolling in, so just have a few things left to do before the deadline when I have to start making escort cards and seating chart, etc.
I had my last dress fitting and got to take it home on Friday! That was a big success because I’m wearing barefoot sandals instead of shoes, so we were worried we’d have to shorten it. It wouldn’t have been a huge deal, just a lot of extra time and money since it’s all lace on the bottom. Luckily, I’m very tall! Haha.
Other than that, we didn’t do too much this week. We did have a meeting with our site coordinator and got a potential schedule for the day hashed out, and I will meet with our photgrapher when she is in town next Sunday.
Things are getting real, ladies!
