- Wedding: May 2013
I was having a heck of a time finding a seamstress who would do the necessary things for my dress, and I was getting quotes for $250+ in Portland. Every lady I was talking to also told me that I would need to pay a rush fee since I need the dress by May 2nd at latest.
So I went to this little local shop in our town, and was instantly greeted. The gal was SO sweet and was instantly willing to help. I told her our date and she said, “No problem!” So I while she’s helping me into my dress we’re talking, just having a good time. She was so easy to chat with, I loved it! We both knew it needed a hem since I’m going to be barefoot on the sand, and then we started doing miscellanious things to really make the appearance that much better.
So, in the end we ended up agreeing on the following
-Replacing the zipper
-adding a little bit of crinoline
-Hem about 2″
-fixing a few loose thread spots on the rouching
-Fixing loose beads
All for $135! I ended up paying probably 1/4 of what I would have in the city, and I only have to drive a mile to pick it up! I’m doing my fitting on April 26 to make sure we’ve done everything we need, but YAY! I’m just so excited! I’ve also been ordered not to lose any more weight because she can’t pull the corset any tighter, oops 😉
I promise I’ll take pictures at the final fitting! Just 31 days 🙂
