Yay! that sounds like a super fun wedding! and as long as its what you want, there should be no reason to regret regardless of what your mom or anyone else says for that matter. you should do what makes you happy.. in time your mom will get over it. as a mom myself, i know that deep down a mom only wants to make sure you are happy all your life, so maybe she just has a funny way of showing it 🙂

Congrats! We set our date this weekend too for 6/15! I also need to tell my parents this weekend but I don’t anticipate any issues.

Have you considered not telling her until you return?

I’m sorry, that blows that you have to carry around concern about her every reaction. Sounds like you have the right attitude and are focused on the prize. It’s all going to happen so fast and then you can just settle into being married and she can find something new to complain about. 🙂

Awwwweeee Congrats!  You will have a beautiful wedding and beautiful photos for sure!  I know it’s hard when you hear feedback that isn’t positive, and it must be harder when it is your Mom.  Keep being strong and follow your heart when it comes to picking your life partner and how you want to plan your wedding:)  You can’t make everyone happy, but you can make you can throw the best wedding day celebration on your own terms… which will make you happiest when all is said and done!
