so as i post here i got really cute small jars in ikea. i was looking what to put inside. today i felt like experimenting and look how cute it look.
i made chocolate shortbread cookie to tried out the cookie cutters. i fit 9 cookies in the jar. i will make thank you cards to go with the ribbon. i will keep trying different recipes. my idea is to put vanilla and chocolate cookies.
what you think?? do you like it??
Super cute! I love your idea! I think your guests will love it too! Only one question/concern: How much work is it to make all of the cookies? Will you have enough time without causing yourself stress? But I adore the idea and think they look incredible!
they look fantastic! and expensive! :)
Magenta! These are super cute! I love it!!!! My only concern: the color? I think white cookies would look much better, no?
@julialimei i make cookies all the time and love it. the recipe is really easy to make an bakes in only 8 minutes. my maid of honor came up with the ideas of cookies and offer her help. the plan is to make them two days before the wedding. in one batch i made today 75 cookies. so it was easy enough at least for me. :)
@virginia i think so, this is only my first test. i will tried other recipes i got from bees to see which one i will keep
How cute! 9 cookies... man your guests are lucky!
I would pre-cut all the cookies, freeze them flat on parchment paper & then (once frozen completely) I'd keep them in a plastic container in the freezer. This way you don't have to put all the extra work into the favors a day or two before your wedding! You could assign an aunt or BM to do it last minute so the cookies will be fresh... :)
Really cute idea!!!
I love them.
How big are the cookies and what size are the jars?
If you have a ton of cookies to make, you can start making them way ahead. Cookies keep well in the freezer up to 6 months.
ahh, sure I understand! Well they are insanely adorable. Great idea, babe.
@noritake dont know the measurements exactly but here http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/can-you-help-me-give-me-ideas-please you can see the jars and cookie cutter next to an standard lighter so you can have an idea
Good job. What is the cost of each favor? How many favors are you making?
thanks virginia... mi fi help me with the cookies and he love the end result
Okay, that's great--doesn't sound like it will be too stressful at all! :-) And they look SO good! I think it will be clear to your guests how much effort you put in.
Thank you Magenta. I just checked it out. I am making vanilla for favors and I think your cookie idea would be a great complimentary favor to go with them.
I would still like to know what size cookie cutter you use though. Your's are the perfect size.
those are super super cute :) great job...want the hive to do a taste test for you? I'm sure you'd get some volunteers ;)
@thefuturemrsgibbs the jars where 2.99 for a package of 4. the ribbon i bought it in clearance at michaels at .25 cents the roll. and the cookies are so simple so i think it will be 1.75 to 2.00 the favor. and im making 30
@noritake22 i bought the cookie cutter at michaels and i just found the link for them ... hope this help http://www.michaels.com/art/online/displayProductPage?productNum=bk0116
They ended up turning out great! I'm happy you had a successful trial run of what you wanted to do so you wouldn't have to go with something else, like you were worried about!
