Yay congrats! I’ve never really done sales before but I’d say the one main thing is to not be pushy! Everyone hates that in a sales person, but I think you’ll do great. Besides if you work at a Optometrist’s office then the people coming in will be coming in looking to buy something so I don’t think you’ll have to do too much hard selling! Probably just figuring out what glasses would look good on what type of face. Remember to compliment, compliment, compliment, even if they’re not your favorite choice! Oh and GOOD LUCK!!!!

I AM SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!! Also congratulations on the upcoming graduation πŸ™‚

You can succeed at sales! They will train you and I’m sure you will get to know about all the products and tricks of the trade. You have a wonderful, friendly and sweet personality which will be very inviting! and 8 bucks an hour should help sustain you should business be slow over waitressing where you would be worse off.

I am in sales. Trust me, everyone makes it seem harder than it actually is! Just smile and talk to EVERYONE, even when your not at work. The friendlier you are, not fake sounding, and the more you are yourself the better. Give people a reason to want to come back. Do follow-up calls with customers! It seems like a lot to take in, but it is not so bad πŸ™‚ PM me if you ever need help or anything, I love sharing tips. Oh and there is certain words you can use to make things a better EXPERIENCE for the customer. Congrats on the new job!! Hope I was able to help a little bit.

I am in sales and i would say based on how your interview went you are a natural. You have a ton of great customer service from waitressing. Tips- be genuine, super helpful and friendly. You have to get your customers to like you, think of it as selling yourself first. My favorite sales quote is “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”

I bet you have the perfect personality for sales and you will make lots of commission! It helps to be self motivated and sales driven, go after your goals! Good Luck and congrats!

I used to do sales in a picture studio – similar because people go there expecting to buy something, you just have to steer them in the more expensive right direction. The best tip I can give you is to genuinely listen to people’s concerns and wishes. Be polite and if you don’t know something don’t say “I’m sorry, I don’t know” instead say “Let me go find out for you”. Also, never judge a book by it’s cover! Don’t dismiss anyone based on appearances. Good luck! If your interview went that well I’m sure the sales will come easy to you.

Congratulations! I’m glad to hear that you’ve found a nice job (I hated waitressing, too). It sounds like they really liked you, so I’m sure they’re confident that you’ll do well!
