I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do for my wedding day makeup; it's a daytime wedding in December. I figured out that with my complexion (dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, very fair skin), shades of beige and brown worked well for my eye shadow & eye liner. I'm using the classic Nars blush for my cheeks, and the only thing left was lipstick.
So the other day, FI and I were walking through Saks on our way out of the mall, when I stopped by the Chanel counter and found the PERFECT shade. It's called Red Dream, and the lipliner is Vamp. Great! I thought. Only they were completely out, and Saks doesn't order items for you in the store if they're out (annoying, right?) So I'd been thinking about this lipstick for three days now. I stopped by Nordstrom today, and they had the same tester - Red Dream - and lipliner. I tried it on again - perfect! It's an amazing shade of red with blue/plum undertones. The makeup lady searched - and they were out too!
Then she looked in their online system - there were none - at all - anywhere in Nordstrom's system. As a last-ditch effort, she hunted around to see if there was a clean (new) tester - and voila! She had one, a clean, never used tester - and (bonus!) - she gave it to me for free. So I have the perfect lipshade, and it was free. :-)
Makeup is all good to go - and only 5 weeks left.
