Thats fun. I can't wait to eat ours but I am afraid too that it won't taste good.
Invite someone over! My friends saved their cake, and they invited my husband and me over to have a slice and watch their wedding video, since it was a destination wedding and we weren't able to go.
I've got mine in the freezer. I can't wait to eat it because it was so delicious at the wedding. It's wrapped in several layers of plastic and in a Tupperware.
My bakery will make us a fresh top cake layer (identical to what was on our cake) when our 1 year anniversary rolls around. So excited for more tasty wedding cake (especially because I didn't get to eat any more than the single bite DH fed me at the reception)!
My mom just put the top of our cake in a freezer bag after our wedding because we left for Hawaii the day after our wedding and I was really worried that it would be bad. We both had a little bite last nite out of it and it wasn't that bad. I think I will bring it to work and share with everyone else, just don't have the heart to throw it away!! BTW...Happy Anniversary guitargirl a day late:)
@Mrs.KMM: Awww that's a really nice touch from your bakery!
Ours is in the freezer right now. We're having some fridge breakdown drama, so I'm hoping it didn't get damaged somehow, but I think it stayed frozen. I'm really looking forward to trying it in 11 months. Any excuse to eat cake really ;)
@stormy9973: Happy belated anniversary date twin! I am trying to give it away, but I feel like it's so special I want to give it to people who appreciate it.
We didn't even think to save any cake. We fed the few leftover pieces to the deer! They have a heck of a sweet tooth!
We bought a new one. We didn't know any better and cut the top tier on our wedding day. Then it was so good we ate it all as well as the whole bottom tier in the following days. So for our anniversary, a new one had to be made!!
I'm pulling ours out of the freezer TOMORROW! :) I am SOOO hoping it will be tasty because I didn't have time to eat much of it on our wedding day and everyone kept rubbing it in that our cake was so tasty after the wedding, haha.

Today is our anniversary, and there was a mishap with our cake. My sister didn't wrap it up; she just put it in the box in the freezer. We noticed a month later, FH wrapped it up and has been saying that it's going to be awful. He also became gluten-free and can't eat it regardless. I just had some, and it's still good! Now I am trying to find people to share it with who will appreciate it since my waist doesn't need an entire 6 inch cake.
