Yellow looks good, but it is hard for some people to wear. With my skin tone and hair, yellow is a color I can not pull off:(
Yellow can be hard to wear, but it's a really popular color this season and so there are actually quite a lot of shade options. I think if you go with your girls and try some different shades on you can probably find something that would look good on them.
I don't know what skin tones your BM's have but yellow usually looks awesome on people with dark skin and those with yellow undertones (africa, india, south east asia, etc.)
I've worn yellow as a BM before. I really liked the color, but the particular dress wasn't the most flattering on me (shape-wise, not color) - I was a bit bigger then the other BMs and it didn't give me enough shape - looks awesome on the other girls though. It was a J Crew sundress.
From that wedding:

And other examples from a quick Google search:

I'm doing yellow! My ladies haven't complained except for one, who isn't a yellow fan but is willing to wear it for our day. I'm letting them choose their own yellow dress, though, because if I'm gonna make them where a difficult colour it's going to be in a style/cut/fabric they prefer. Hopefully it all works out!
I do have a range of skintones, there is really just one girl who is worried, she is very fair skinned with a lot of freckles but she has dark hair so I think that would offset the yellow looking like too harsh of a color on her. We went and tried on some dresses, we found two we love (below) but unfortunately neither place had the yellow color there, we could only see it on a swatch (and online, obviously) so it is hard to know what it would look like on a dress in person. Pretty much the only option is to buy one and return (if possible) if we don't like the color and then we will go through the same process with pink I suppose.

I am having yellow BM dresses, I ordered them from Lightinthebox, you can see my review and some pics here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/lightinthebox-bm-dress-review
My cousin had yellow, slightly darker in shade to yours. She had a range of blondes through black hair, and varying skin tone. All the girls looked stunning. Maybe you could buy them some tanning sessions as a gift? Yellow looks glorious against a tan!
@LISA8285: When I collected my wedding dress they had a delivery of yellow Alfred Angelo BM dresses and they were gorgeous, they really caught your eye and made you smile. I think many people think yellow wont suit them where in fact it does, I used to be one of those people lol.
I like the yellow you've chosen in both of those dresses.
If you have any yellow or green in your skin tone and are not very tan, yellow will make you look like you are ill. Yellow, light oranges, ivory, neons and warm pastels make me look like I am about to keel over any second. I have medium brown hair, olive skin and a moderate tan from living in Texas but I don't lay out/tan or spend a lot of time out in the sun so am rather pale.
Have your BMs try the yellow dresses on before you settle for yellow as your color. If they don't feel comfortable in the color, even if you think that they look fine, be a pal and pick something else. Maybe have them wear your contrast color and carry yellow bouquets or have a yellow sash. Being stuck in a color/dress that you feel horrible in just makes the day crappy and you want your besties to have a good time at your wedding.
Yes i have seen so many bridesmaids wearing yellow dresses......and it look amazing....i personally like yellow color dress.......but yes some are not just as comfortable as others.....
and it depend on their skin tone and personal choice......
But their are so many shades of yellow......fair skin tones can wear any color... light yellow or pale yellow looks good on dusky skin tones so i would suggest you to have pale yellow dress....like this...

I'm doing yellow and my wedding is this Saturday! I'll try to post some pictures when I get them back. I chose Dessy style 2780 in Sunflower. My other color is gray. I think yellow would be a great choice for a summer wedding!

I found some yellow dresses, they are so beautiful.

I know your post was awhile ago but I struggled finding yellow bridesmaid dresses for my 7 bridesmaids and 2 Jr. bridesmaids. If I did find a place that I like the store wouldn't be located in Texas, Oklahoma and Indiana where I have bridesmaids at. I wasn't sure about going with David's but decided to go in and check out the colors in person. The lighter dress is canary and the brighter yellow is sunbeam. I fell in love with the colors. They also had 4 dresses that looked good together. I wanted to have more than one options for my girls to wear so everyone could pick something they feel great in. These will be the dresses my girls can pick from. Just thought it'd be nice for you to see these. Online the colors look really bad so if you're thinking about going with them I'd suggest to see at the store, that is what changed my mind. Hope this helps!

Did anyone or is anyone using Yellow BM Dresses?? I really want to use yellow, the current ones I'm looking at are Dessy/After Six Style 6574 in Sunflower. My only reservations are A-They will either be too bright or not bright enough to be a good contrast with my ivory dress and B-A couple of the girls don't think they will look good in yellow. My "fall back" color is pink...but I feel like you just see pink so often and I would like to be a little different, plus my fiance isn't crazy about his groomsmen wearing pink ties. So...my questions are:
Does anyone have pictures of weddings...yours, one you were in, one you went to... where the BM's wore yellow? Did you hate it? Love it? What do you think...is yellow a bad color to choose??
