I have red hair, green eyes and pale skin too!  Personally, I LOVE rose gold against my skin tone.  So rose gold is my vote!

I’d suggest going to a jewelry store to try on yellow and rose gold rings.  You will be able to determine which one you prefer on your own skin tone.

Yeah, trying it on in real life will be the best way to decide. But, if it helps here is my yellow gold solitaire with a rose gold band 🙂

Lovely.Luna253:  what a pretty set. I really love the rose gold version and think it will look lovely with your colouring but just to be sure I would go to a jewellery store and try something on in rose gold.

Definitely go to a jewelry store to try on some rose gold.

I feel like rose gold is soooo trendy right now, it’ll really mark you as having gotten engaged this decade. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, and if you ever want to upgrade you can get a different metal, but it’s something to think about. I chose yellow gold because rose gold looks fine on my skintone but not my FI’s, and he wanted a two-tone band, I have a white gold engagement ring and chose a yellow gold band to coordinate with him. I like mismatched metals and personally I think I yellow gold is more luxurious than rose gold. But obviously I’m biased.

Also there’s a bit of a diffence in color for 14K and 18K, for both rose gold and yellow gold. My band is 18K.

Lovely.Luna253:  Definitely try some on. That’s a fun trip anyways. I think yellow may suit your skin better, but it’s impossible to say for sure. Better yet, buy a couple of costume pieces and wear them around to decide.

Another thought, have you considered mixed metals? I notice the handshot is mixed. It looks pretty cool. This whole set is great either way though.

I know rose gold is trendy, but after I bought myself a little rose gold ring I was stoked about how it complemented my skin tone. I’m slightly darker, light skinned Hispanic, only kinda tan. It’s like the same shade of pink that I am. I love how it looks on me. I found all this out AFTER I was already engaged though, so I have white gold. I love both though.

I agree with others. Go try rose gold on. I think rose would be really perfect on you! But it’s all up to you on what you like. the set you picked out is so cool… Also, you’re very pretty!!

Lovely.Luna253:  What a unique and amazing ring! I am biased towards yellow gold because I think it’s less trendy than rose gold.

Definitely try it on. I ordered my engagement ring in rose gold (plated over white gold) because I thought I would like it more but I actually prefer yellow gold after trying the two on.

    Lovely rings!

As others have said, try the different colours on.  I’m dark haired and dark eyed with a slightly olive complexion and so yellow gold looks good on me.  But sometimes it looks great on pale people too.  Skin tone can be very subtle.

Don’t worry too much about going into jewellers to try things on.  If they are nice to you you might buy something from them in the future.  Show them the pictures if you like.  I’m sure that they’ll be interested in see something different from what they usually sell.

Three other things you might consider.

Firstly, gold comes in other shades than white, yellow or rose.  You could explore different shades.

Secondly you could have mismatched rings, one in rose yold and the other in yellow gold.

Thirdly you could have each ring made with one colour of band and a different colour of bezel.

However they are lovely and unusual rings.  Their simplicity is part of their beauty so I think you should probably stick to yellow or rose gold throughout.  I’m sure whatever you choose will look wonderful.

Do show us you final choice and let us know the name of your designer!

I love your ring choice, very unique!  I’m biased towards rose gold and that’s how I voted, but as PP have stated, you should try both before making a decision.  Mixed metals is also an interesting option.
